Street artist Banksy has confirmed he's behind the artwork that appeared on the wall of Reading Prison last week. The picture shows a prisoner - possibly resembling famous inmate Oscar Wilde - escaping on a rope made of bedsheets tied to a typewriter.

Banksy has firmly put Reading on the map and has undoubtedly contributed towards the fight for turning the derelict prison into an arts hub instead of housing. We just can't help wonder how Berkeley Homes Ltd, developers of 700 flats going up opposite, feel about it.

News of the mural has been reported on Berkeley’s website. It'll be interesting to see whether the flats facing the mural suddenly become more sought after. It would certainly be a talking point!

The street art appeared on the side of Reading Prison, which is under threat of development.

With unemployment rates set to rise when the Government's furlough scheme ends in October, mortgage applications will likely plummet.

With fewer mortgages being granted, less people will be able to buy houses. With less people buying houses, fewer housebuilders will build homes.

You see the issue here?

If only Banks would bear more of the risk by offering higher LTV mortgages, reducing deposit requirements and being more lenient with applicants’ financial criteria.

That would be ideal but then...what will mean for interest rates?

💼 Watsham Consulting was established in July 2018 by founder, Natalie Watsham.

🚧 We are Construction / Housebuilding specialists, recruiting Finance, Commercial and Customer Care vacancies across the UK.

⚡️ Our logo is a miniature electricity pylon paying homage to Natalie's Great Great Grandfather. His business "Watsham's Limited" built and erected the electricity pylons making up todays National Grid.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced an immediate stamp duty holiday on all property sales in England and Northern Ireland up to the value of £500,000 until March 31st 2021.

Happy 2nd Birthday Watsham Consulting! 🥳

Humans don't tend to feel any different from one birthday to the next but for Watsham Consulting our 2nd year has been a major breakthrough; establishing ourselves, diversifying and continuing to flourish.

🔹 We're recognised as Construction / Housebuilding specialists

🔹 We've enhanced our infrastructure allowing us to increase our temp/interim offering

🔹 We've recruited into Construction, Commercial, Finance and Customer Care departments

🔹 We've grown the team, welcoming Hannah our Social Media Manager on board

🔹 We've attended industry events and gained CPD recognition for continuing professional development

Everyday we see the fruits of our labour come to life in the form of candidate referrals, new testimonials, clients calling us instead of vice versa and REPEAT BUSINESS (our favourite thing 😍)

Stepping into our third year we're filled with nothing but confidence and motivation. Sure, the pandemic has caused us to rethink our forecast for 2020 but we're still here, we're still recruiting and we're still thoroughly enjoying it.
