In yesterdays session with Sam from Grŵp Llandrillo-Menai, Jamie, Shayna and Amy began working on posters about a topic of their choosing.

These posters will be used as a prompt next week when they present to a small group about their topic.

Amy has chosen to talk about her pet parrots, Jamie is focusing on Liverpool Football Club, whilst Shayna is talking all things glitter ball with a presentation about Strictly Come Dancing.

By presenting about something they like, they can build up the confidence to talk in front of people whilst testing out what they have learnt in recent weeks about what makes a good presentation.

We look forward to seeing how they get on next Monday.

Last week Freya, Seren, Jamie and Amy continued to learn about what makes a good presentation.

After a group discussion, everyone wrote down some ideas about what they would like to present about - which is what we will be focusing on in today’s session with Sam.

It is great to hear the ideas flowing and seeing everyone’s enthusiasm. We look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with as the weeks progress.

Yesterday, we enjoyed another fun-filled session with Sam from Grŵp Llandrillo-Menai.

This week’s session laid the foundations for the weeks ahead, with Sam opening up a discussion about what it takes to present. Amy, Jamie and Shayna got really involved, sharing some fantastic ideas which they then wrote down and explored further as a group.

We also enjoyed a game of Guess Who, which brought plenty of fun and laughter to the session.

These early weeks are so important in helping everyone get comfortable with each other and build confidence when speaking in a group setting.

We’re already looking forward to next week’s session and hope to welcome some more people to the group!

This afternoon, Fiona met with Nat, founder of Tyfu Prestatyn – a growing project in Prestatyn, which literally translates to ‘growth’.

The project brings together conservation, community, gardening and green spaces, while helping people develop valuable green skills.

We can already see some exciting opportunities to work with Nat and Tyfu Prestatyn in the near future, and we’re really looking forward to seeing where the relationship takes us. 🌱

Today, Hari has been getting stuck into day 2 of his work trial with the Marketing Officer at M-SParc, joining meetings and getting a feel for what the agendas and day-to-day role look like.

Today, we were delighted to welcome back Sam from Grŵp Llandrillo-Menai as we began a brand-new course that will run throughout the full academic year.

The course will cover a range of useful topics, including presentation skills, money skills, using time effectively and building confidence. Today, we were joined by Freya, Jamie, Amy and Shayna, with more people expected to join us over the coming weeks.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence and socialise with others along the way.

A big thank you to Sam for easing everyone in with some fun ice breakers and games, helping everyone feel comfortable, engaged and ready to participate.

✨ Hari’s first day of his work trial at M-SParc!✨

Today, he’s working alongside the marketing team, creating content for the tenant companies at M-SParc and learning more about the different businesses based there and what they do day to day. Hari has a keen interest in marketing and is hoping to gain valuable experience and insight into what it’s like to work within a marketing team.

Hari’s Job Coach, Paige, is also with him today, providing support as he settles into his work trial and gets familiar with his new surroundings.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for Hari to develop his skills, build confidence and get a real feel for working in marketing. We’re excited to see what he gets up to! 💻📸👏

Last Thursday, Fiona and Paul headed to Park in The Past in Hope, just outside Wrexham, for some employer engagement. 👋

The team met with CEO Paul Harston, who kindly showed them around the site and shared more about its history, and plans for the future.

Park in the Past is a unique 120-acre heritage, nature and conservation project, transforming a former quarry into a destination combining history, education, outdoor activities and environmental restoration. The site is also home to the ambitious ‘Big Fort Build’, which is recreating a 1st-century Roman fort using experimental archaeology and traditional techniques.

While we don’t currently have any jobseekers at this location, there are so many potential opportunities for us to work together in the future. Building relationships with local employers is all about understanding their needs and exploring how we can create meaningful employment opportunities for the people we support.

We’re really excited to see where this relationship could lead.

🎉 Another great social group at CoOptions HQ!

Yesterday we had some new faces around the table, so we started with introductions and some icebreakers, including a fun game of This or That!

We then split into pairs and small groups to play some games together. 🎲

It was brilliant to see everyone getting along, joining in and having a good laugh together.

We will soon be starting a series of new courses with Grŵp Llandrillo-Menai, so these social sessions are a great way to get everyone talking and working together ahead of the course.
