NPT Employability has been working closely with three participants — David, Nathan and Kelly — to help them overcome barriers to employment and move confidently toward long‑term, sustainable work.

Through personalised mentoring, targeted training, and strong employer partnerships, each participant has progressed from initial engagement to meaningful paid work opportunities within Neath Port Talbot Council.

We received positive feedback from the employer about Victor from the moment that he started his Paid Work Opportunity.

The employer stated that Victor's work ethic was exceptional and he was brilliant with the service users and their families.

Victor's hard work and positive attitude resulted in Brynsiriol Care Home offering Victor employment upon completion of his placement.

Paid Work Opportunity leads to employment for Sophia in Construction.

Sophia completed NPT Employability’s Pathway 2 Construction course in November 2025.

During the celebration day, a local Construction Company expressed interest in Sophia after speaking with her at the event.

After starting her Paid Work Opportunity, Sophia has demonstrated an incredible work ethic and positive attitude to the role. The feedback from the employer has been positive and they have stated that she has been an excellent candidate, and are looking at developing her further.

Sophia has been offered employment once her placement comes to an end in February 2026.

Sophia stated that she has enjoyed the placement and has been made to feel welcome and a valued member of the team.

Paid Work Opportunity leads to employment for Jamie at JES Group & The Skills Academy

Jamie has done very well in the placement. His work has been to a high standard and he has also enjoyed assisting the lead instructor with workshops, teaching school pupils how to weld.

Jamie stated that he feels he has grown in confidence and the placement has given the opportunity to build on his skillset.

Jamie has been courteous and appreciates all the support he has received from the team at NPT Employability and JES Group.

Paid Work Opportunity Leads to Employment

Georgia joined the project in April and was seeking support in finding employment and completing training courses. Georgia had been out of work for since January and was unsuccessful in being invited to interviews.

Georgia was supported with completing training such as Emergency First Aid, Customer Service and Manual handling. Once these training courses had been completed, Georgia was then supported in creating a CV and applying for jobs.
