Yard Operative - Plymouth (PL9) - Immediate Start!

We're currently recruiting for a Yard Operative to join a busy, customer facing site in Plymouth on a 2 month temporary assignment. Potential for extension depending on needs of service.

This is a hands-on, outdoor role working a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern (08:00-18:00), offering £13.26 per hour with enhanced pay of £16.00 per hour on Sundays.

Please note this position requires weekend working availability.

If you enjoy physical work, have experience in labouring, waste management or yard operations, and take pride in delivering excellent customer service while maintaining high safety standards, we'd love to hear from you.

🚛 Waste Collectors Wanted - Plymouth (PL4) 🚛

Are you looking for a role that keeps you active, gets you outdoors, and gives you a long weekend every week?

We're recruiting Waste Collectors to support Plymouth's new Food Waste Collection Programme.

📅 Mandatory induction date - 10.08.2026

✅ £13.26 per hour
✅ 37 hours per week
✅ Monday to Thursday, 06:30am - 4:15pm
✅ Four-day working week
✅ On-site parking
✅ Temporary assignment until September 2026

This is a physically demanding role, ideal for candidates with recent manual labour or manual handling experience who enjoy working as part of a team and aren't afraid of all weather conditions.
You'll play an important role in helping keep Plymouth clean, green, and environmentally friendly while working alongside a supportive and dedicated crew.

We're looking for reliable individuals with excellent attendance, a strong work ethic, and the ability to commit to the full assignment.

👏🏼Thanks to 𝐘𝐎𝐔, 337 is the incredible number of Easter donations we had the pleasure of delivering between Hearts Together and the UHP Therapeutic Play Service Children's wards at Derriford Hospital today.

A massive thank you to everyone who got involved: clients, candidates, colleagues, and anyone who took the time to drop something in. This year has been our biggest yet, and it’s all down to your kindness and proper community spirit 😍

A special mention to Hearts Together, who even shuttle‑bussed us right up to the hospital doors. It’s such a small thing, but it honestly sums them up perfectly - always going above and beyond in everything they do as a charity.

We’re so grateful to everyone who helped us spread some much‑needed smiles this Easter. Another successful year wrapped up and proof that when people come together, great things genuinely can happen ✨

This year, Pertemps Plymouth & Cornwall are collecting Easter eggs and other easter goodies to donate to Hearts Together CIO and the Children’s Ward at Derriford Hospital, helping to bring a little joy to those spending Easter away from home ❤️
