✔️Contract: Temporary to Permanent after 12 weeks

📍Location: Peterborough, PE2
💷Pay: £12.71–£16.50 per hour (depending on experience)
🕒Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:30pm
🕒Breaks: 1 hour unpaid (15 mins + 30 mins + 15 mins)
💷 Overtime: 1.5x rate (primarily Saturdays)

What you’ll be doing

Processing and assembling aluminium windows and doors
Working with joints, fittings, hardware and components (including blind doors)
Using hand and power tools in a workshop setting
Working accurately to measurements and job specs
Completing quality checks and reporting defects/issues
Keeping the work area safe, tidy and organised

What we’re looking for

Manufacturing/assembly experience ideal (windows/doors/joinery/fabrication a plus)
Confident with tools and practical, hands-on work
Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
Reliable, punctual and comfortable in a small team environment
Willingness to learn aluminium systems and processes

Helping to maintain the cleanliness and overall appearance of our streets, highways, and public open spaces. You will be responsible for ensuring that Huntingdonshire remains a clean, safe and pleasant environment for residents, visitors, and businesses.
✅Key Deliverables:
• Clean and well-maintained streets and public open spaces, regularly cleaned and free from litter and detritus.
• Removal of fly-tipped waste in a timely manner.
• Contribute to a safe working environment by promptly reporting or removing potential hazards such as broken glass.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure a coordinated approach to street cleansing activities.
• Collaborate with other departments or organisations as necessary to address specific cleaning issues.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including areas cleaned, equipment used, and any issues encountered.
• Take proper care and maintenance of cleaning equipment, tools, and vehicles.
• Contribute to a positive public perception by delivering high-quality services.

✅Key Responsibilities:
* Collect domestic and commercial waste/recycling from designated locations (bins, bags, boxes, etc.).
* Operate the bin lift and vehicle equipment safely; report any faults to the driver.
* Assist the driver with daily vehicle checks and report defects during the round.
* Ensure collections are completed neatly; clean any spillages immediately.
* Collect bulky waste items as directed.
* Deliver and replace wheeled bins; leave them safely with correct information for residents.
* Deliver new waste sacks as required.
* Assist with vehicle manoeuvring during collections and at disposal points.
* Follow instructions from the Refuse Recycling Driver at all times.
* Respond to public queries; provide basic information or direct appropriately.
* Follow waste policies, including bin rejection procedures and required notifications.
* Attach service-related leaflets or notices to bins when required.
* Support team members, including new and agency staff.
* Report near misses, accidents, and incidents promptly.
* Assist with record-keeping and provide information for in-cab systems.
* Work in line with risk assessments and safe working practices.
* Carry out any other duties appropriate to the role.

Refuse/Recycling Class 2 drivers (NEW drivers are welcome)

📣📣We are currently recruiting for Class 2 drivers who may also be required to operate occasionally as a loader but always paid at the driver rate.

📍Location: Huntingdonshire

Service: Environmental and Community Services

💰Pay Rate: £17.45 per hour (PAYE)* standard hours

🕒 Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday 06:00-14:00

💰Overtime: after 37 hours overtime is paid x1.5 at £26.17 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

* Drive Class 2 refuse vehicle in designated area.

* Lead a refuse/recycling round, managing crew performance, conduct and safety.

* Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, DVSA rules, PPE use and council policies.

* Carry out daily vehicle checks, defect reporting and ensure vehicles are not overloaded.

* Maintain accurate, real-time records via the in‑cab system (collections, missed bins, issues).

* Collect domestic/commercial waste and recycling, including litter bins, bulky items and special collections.

* Deliver/collect wheeled bins and sacks and support other crews when required.

* Act as an ambassador for the Council, responding to public queries and providing clear information.

* When loading, safely operate bin lifts and equipment, keep the area tidy and follow instructions from the Driver/Loader.

Requirements:

* Category C (Class 2) licence and valid Driver CPC.

* Physically fit - able to move bins/bags and walk several miles per day.

* Strong awareness of Health & Safety and working near highways.

* Good written and verbal communication skills; literate and numerate.

* Experience supervising a small team and making sound decisions under pressure.

* Able to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues and handle complaints professionally.
