Saturday was our first test day since Brands Hatch, and this time we headed over to Blyton Park Circuit a cracking little circuit with some seriously fast braking zones that lauren was keen to get dialled in with a new set of 215/45/17 91Y. Davanti Tyres protoura race
It didn’t take long before Lauren came in reporting a shake and knock from the front passenger side. After a quick inspection, we found the inner driveshaft joint grease had overheated, meaning it wasn’t properly lubricating the bearings. Luckily, we were able to get it sorted quickly a big thanks to Carlyle Tools UK & Ireland for the tool cart and tools they have supplied, and thanks to NAPA Auto Parts UK & Ireland for the parts we keep stocked on the van to keep us going this season.
A quick swap, followed by a full inspection and adjustment on the shock-to-hub mounting, and she was straight back out on track.
The effort and trust Lauren is putting into the car right now really shows. From trackside, you could clearly see the progress braking later into corners and getting the power down much stronger on exit. Big steps forward 👊
We did have a bit of drama after lunch… the bonnet decided to pop up heading into the first left-hander 😬 (we won’t point fingers… Lauren 😅). The pins hadn’t been put back in, but fair play to. Ccf Fibreglass the lightweight bonnet held up brilliantly with very little damage.
Overall, a really positive day. A few tweaks to the engine next, another power run 1320 MINI , tyre rotations, and then we’re all set for Thruxton Circuit.
Let’s go 💪🔥
