Yesterday we held a quarterly Brand Day, and it included a little test: could we recognise our colleagues from their AI-generated pictures?

And it turns out, our pets, favourite foods and a few holiday clues are enough to give most of us away.😂

We clearly listen to each other more than we let on… especially when food or holidays are involved.

Today is Thank Your Cleaner Day, so we’re giving a big shout-out to the people who keep the places we work, learn, shop, stay and spend our free time clean, safe and welcoming - as well as the hospitals where we receive care.

Early starts, late finishes and busy shifts - so much of that work happens while everyone else is elsewhere and it deserves recognition.

Right to Work checks are changing on 1 October - but do you know who’s responsible for the people working across your sites and shifts?

If you use agency staff, individual subcontractors or other flexible workers, now is a good time to check how people are engaged, who completes their checks and what happens when someone arrives as a substitute.

The penalties are already hefty: up to £45,000 per illegal worker for a first breach. The October change means more working arrangements may come within the scheme, so it’s too costly to leave responsibilities unclear.
