The Job Market - what's going on? 📣💼

At R13, we're seeing a noticeable shift right now when it comes to those actively searching for a new role - a greater emphasis on basic salary.

The conversation has moved away from perks, bonuses and additional benefits and firmly towards solid earnings. While benefits and working set-ups still matter, they’re no longer such a primary hook. If the fundamentals don’t work, then candidates are not wanting to engage or consider the overall package....

Understandably, this reflects the ongoing cost of living pressures - stability and predictability are becoming key decision drivers.

So, for employers, this means that your base salary offerings need to be competitive. ✔️

What a start to the year it’s been!

2026 has come in strong and quarter one has been full of momentum, collaboration and some great results:

✨ A seriously busy (and rewarding) few months

Having the pleasure of working with fantastic new clients, while continuing to build on the strong foundations with our long-standing partners, it’s a brilliant mix - and exactly what we love to see.

You’ve probably met Bex - a familiar face at networking events and always up for a good ol' chat (topic of choice - we'll leave that to be shared in the comments).

But when she's not working (or embracing the outdoors) - there's a strong chance she's completing her latest tattoo piece. Add in a love of animals, a cinema trip (nachos mandatory) and some serious dance moves - she's sure to bring her energy and personality wherever she goes 🥰

'Tis the season of reflection...✨(and all that)

It's the classic - another year coming to a close, people on the wind down, and often, a moment to pause and reflect (if you get the time, of course...)

But when it comes to work - how do you know when it's time for a change?

🚩 Feelings of frustration far outweigh the sense of fulfilment.
🚩 Growth feels stalled - ceilings have been hit. You're thinking 'what else is out there?'
🚩 The work that once excited you now very much feels like a grind.
🚩 You’re craving new challenges, but current opportunities feel limited.
🚩 You've hit burnout. Even after a well-deserved break, you're exhausted and the need for something new is obvious.

Any of this resonate?
