Starting Off Apprenticeships and jobs for young people across the UK Our offices are based in the town centres of Kettering and Northampton.

Starting Off are a recruitment and training company, specialising in careers and apprenticeships in business related environments. Through our working relationships with many of the local area's major employers, hundreds of small and medium size companies and the local Learning & Skills Council, we aim to provide the best career opportunities for apprentices, trainees and graduates in Northamptons

hire. Our recruitment work covers all types of jobs from engineering to office trainees. We deal mainly in permanent work or long term contracts. We do not deal with many short term temporary contracts that you might normally associate with an employment agency. Our training work covers all types of office skills from word processing and accounts through to audio transcription and administration. Our courses lead to OCR qualifications and are available with full time or day release attendance.

The Starting Off Team got together for their annual All Staff Meeting on Wednesday!✨🚀

The team started by looking over company updates and changes which was followed by a presentation from each area of the business including training, marketing, recruitment, school work, finance/Figures and AAT.

To close the meeting our Managing Director Katie announced our annual award winners, Lucy won our 'Players Players' award and Molly won the 'Special Recognition' award, a huge congratulations to them both! 🏆

We finished with a wonderful lunch supplied by Georges Team Room and seeing Mikaela who is currently on Maternity leave, we all enjoyed meeting our newest addition to the team Elsie Cooper and having some lovely cuddles!😍

One of the most rewarding parts of what we do is helping young people take their first steps into full-time work. Recently, we received some lovely feedback from a parent whose child had successfully secured an apprenticeship through Starting Off. 🏆

They shared how grateful they were for the support and guidance throughout the journey and the positive impact the opportunity has had on their child's confidence and future prospects. Seeing young people start their careers and hearing how much these opportunities mean to both them and their families is what makes our work so worthwhile. At S.O. Permanent Recruitment, we support both graduates and experienced candidates in finding exciting new career opportunities. Holly previously completed her Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship with the support of Starting Off, achieving a distinction grade. After completing her apprenticeship, she returned to us to explore the opportunities available and we’re thrilled to see her begin her new role as a 1st Line Technician at EquiTech.💼

Holly shared: “Previously, I completed my Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship through Starting Off with a distinction grade. Happy ! Today we are celebrating Sophie, our Trainee Assessor, who has recently completed a Level 2 SEND course where she gained a pass grade!🚀

Sophie added – “Completing the Level 2 SEND course has been a really valuable experience for me. It has helped me develop a better understanding of how to support learners with different needs and create a more inclusive learning environment. In my role, it has given me greater confidence in adapting my approach to support apprentices effectively and ensure they feel understood and supported throughout their journey.”🏆

This week on our Apprentices in Action Series we are celebrating the Level 2 Apprentices at BSH! 🍰

Last week, the Level 2 Apprentices at BSH showcased incredible teamwork and creativity by organising a bake sale as part of the company’s charity fundraiser initiative!✨

The apprentices came together to plan, bake and run the event, offering a huge variety of homemade treats including cheesecake, brownies, banana bread, cookies, lemon cake, tray bakes and more.

Everyone played an important role throughout the day, from running the stand and delivering menus around the office, to even offering a full desk delivery service for colleagues! Some of the team also designed their own chef hats for the occasion, adding an extra fun touch!🎉

Thanks to the team’s hard work and support from colleagues across BSH, they raised over £70 selling treats at just 50p each. Funds raised will go towards the apprentices’ two chosen charities.

A fantastic achievement and a brilliant example of collaboration, initiative and team spirit from the apprentices at BSH!
