Our Sister Company Maruso Care is looking for Chefs for Care Homes & Nursing Homes
Locations: Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Bristol
Contract Type: Temporary flexible working, both full-time and part-time
Hourly Rate: £15 to £19 per hour, depending on chef level
Temporary: Full-time
We are currently seeking to hire several Enhanced DBS Chefs and Cooks to work in Care Homes, Retirement Villages, Nursing Homes, and even Prisons.
Please note: To work in a care home, prison, or NHS environment, you must possess an enhanced DBS check dated within the last 12 months or be registered on the update service, covering the adult workforce. If needed, we can assist you in obtaining one at a cost.
You will be responsible for providing assistance and support during sickness, short-term and long-term absences, as well as meeting increased demand. The ideal candidate will prepare fresh and nutritious food, taking into consideration dietary requirements.

Working Hours:
You can choose your weekly working schedule; however, the working hours will vary depending on the site. We offer both full-time and part-time positions with flexible days, including weekends. Most shifts for chefs range between 6/7 am and 6/7 pm.

As we cover a wide range of sites, your working environment will vary accordingly. We will strive to place you in the most comfortable and suitable environments. Our current supply includes schools, NHS and Nursing/ Residential Homes We are confident that we have something that aligns with your experience and preferences.
Main Duties:
• Collaborate with the team to ensure daily tasks are completed.
• Handle deliveries and stock rotation.
• Possible involvement in food ordering, such as head chef/chef manager duties.
• Assist with food preparation and other kitchen tasks, including pot washing.
• Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations.
• Prepare nutritious meals according to requirements.
• Maintain a clean-as-you-go policy.
• Possible food serving responsibilities.
• Possible till operation duties.
Requirements and Skills:
• Previous experience as a chef, up to the cook/chef de partie level, within the last 12 months.
• Flexibility in shift patterns, including weekends.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Level 2 food hygiene certificate (preferred, but training can be provided).
• Level 2 Health and Safety Certificate (preferred, but training can be provided).
• Passion for food and ability to work well under pressure.
• Previous experience in the care sector, providing texture meals and catering to special dietary requirements.
• A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle may be required for certain locations.
• An up-to-date Enhanced DBS check dated within the last 12 months, preferably registered on the new updated service program (we can assist in obtaining one at a cost).
The Commute: As we cover multiple locations across Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Gloucestershire, Somerset, and Bristol, your commute may vary. If you rely on public transport, we will only assign you to places accessible by public transportation and provide you with all the necessary information to facilitate your commute.
