Our client, UK and NZ Owned Major Carpentry Contractor with the single and overriding goal of becoming one of the foremost specialist carpentry construction companies in NZ. Since the early days of the company their expertise and numbers have grown considerably, and they are proud to have successfully delivered a number of significant projects nationwide.

Projects that range from single units, to major new construction and infrastructure projects.

Due to rapid growth growth from their Auckland Headquarters, the company are seeking a experienced and motivated carpenters with infrastructure and larger project backgrounds.

The successful candidates will be based in Auckland, but may have the opportunity to trave across New Zealand to support both existing and new contracts.

Experience:

Hold a Recognised Carpentry Trade Qualification or 3 years Apprenticeship

Must have at least three years’ experience in Carpentry post qualification

Happy to work as part of a team, or individually when called upon.
Ability to communicate with Subcontractors, clients and other team members

First Aid/H&S qualification and advantage, but training can be provided.

Ideally have qualiifed carpentry experience in major projects in Europe / North America / Australia or Asia
Be a Fluent English Speaker
Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials

Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction in major projects and infrastructure

Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
Ability to read technical documents and drawings
Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times

Be in Good physical condition and health

Formwork Hammer Hands x 6 (Civil & Infrastructure Projects) - $36 - 40+/hr
Structures Foreman x 2 (Civil & Infrastructure Projects) - $40 - 50+ /hr
Steel Fixers x 8 (Civil & Infrastructure Projects) $35+/hr

*Doka / Peri / RMD & Traditional formwork systems
*Steel Fixing *Concrete Placing & Finishing
Their preferred workforce are trade qualified with proven experience in reinforced concrete, formwork, super structure and sub structure, preferably with a civil contractor or a commercial subcontractor that are specialists in these areas of delivery.
Reporting to the site foreman, you must be able to read complex drawings, order materials and manage site resource including productivity and Health & Safety. Above all else you need to be able to demonstrate a reputable track record in concrete construction.
The successful applicant will be required to complete a pre-employment medical test including drug screening, and be eligible to work in New Zealand either as a resident or by holding a current work visa.
