Network marketing, social selling, multi-level marketing .... however you jazz it up, it's still pyramid selling, all the people at the top get all the money while people at the bottom do all the work - right?
That's the view I had before I actually took the time to have a look!
To clear up a few misconceptions - network marketing is a legitimate business model (ask Alan Sugar or Richard Branson if you don't believe me!) where you become a business owner and promote products on behalf of your company to sell. The savings made in advertising alone, mean you get paid for doing this.
But it's a scam, I know loads of people that have done it and been ripped off!!
Ok, well, did they expect to get £1,000's in the bank after just a few weeks? Is that something you can achieve with a regular job? It's not a get rich quick scheme and you should be weary of anyone who says it is. You have to work hard at anything in life, not many people get things handed on a plate to them - did the person do the activity to get things moving? Why do they feel they got ripped off - did they buy products they didn't sell? If that's the case it's a shame. I would never condone buying lots of products in the hope they sell out quickly - as it's not viable to do so.
But you've said someone got £5,000 in 2 months - you're being a bit hypocritical!
Haha! Yes my mentor has achieved this and it's becoming more and more typical in our business due to the unprecedented growth we're experiencing! It's not usual to find this happening, but she is an experienced networker, with a wide range of friends and contacts and when she spoke with others about the opportunity, they also saw the business potential, as they also know that network marketing as a concept, works!!
I've been hounded by these type of people, they're always spamming pages I go on and message me when I'm not interested.
This is exactly what gives this line of business a poor reputation and it frustrates me that this happens at all! There's no need to spam and I'm so thankful that my team promote and practice We are always open and honest about this opportunity and won't post inappropriately. Please remember though, people can be very excited with their new venture and want to tell the whole world what they're doing!! I contact people about my business, not because I need to convince anyone, but because I know the opportunity is a genuine one and I don't want my family and friends to miss an opportunity that can change lives for the better!
But it's shaped like a pyramid and only a few people end up being big earners!
I'll be honest, that's what I thought before I joined another network marketing company last year. What I've found is, you get back what you put in. If you work hard, you get more money. Lots of organisations are 'pyramid' shaped! The CEO is at the top of the list, then there are senior managers, next it's managers and then the employees (sound familiar?!) The Life Tree World 'pyramid' shape is actually .... you guessed it.... a tree shape lol! You only ever have 3 people 'below you' and when anyone else joins your team, they're placed below those initial 3. This way, everyone has the same chance of earning! It's also worth noting that you can easily earn more than the person that introduced you - those at the top aren't the only ones earning!!
I hope this helps correct some of the common beliefs people have about network marketing - it's not for everyone, but it's also not something to be passed over if you're looking to earn a decent living!
