*Unite against the Far Right on 26th September in Edinburgh*

The racist and fascist 'Unite the Clans' is planning to bring its hate to the French Consulate in Edinburgh on Saturday 26th September. They say France should be held accountable for "taking our money" and "letting the boats flood in".

UTC is not some peaceful protest organisation. It is seeking to build a street movement opposed to migrant, LGBT+, women's and Palestinian rights.

Prominent figures within the group have previously voiced support for Hi**er.

At a UTC rally in Glasgow in July a section of their protest went on a violent rampage through the city, seeking to physically and verbally attack migrants and black people.

Stand Up to Racism will not let UTC go unopposed. We have called a counter demo assembling 11am, West Parliament Square, St Giles Cathedral.

We urge anti-racists, trade unionists, Palestine activists, community groups, migrant groups and others to join our demonstration to show that:
- Edinburgh won't tolerate hate;
- Refugees are welcome here;
- No one is illegal; and
- we won't let the racists divide us.

Bring banners and placards.

n 2024 COSLA committed to work towards a minimum of £15 per hour for local government workers.
COSLA agreed to implement this by 1 April 2026 with a worst case scenario of 1 April next year.
UNISON members in waste,recycling and schools took strike action to get this deal in 2023.
COSLA have failed to make workable proposals and refused to jointly meet Scottish Government to ask for additional funds.
A minimum rate of £15 per hour in local government will increase pay for those on the lowest salary scales, help tackle recruitment problems, improve services and push up wages across councils.
COSLA might want to forget about this pledge but UNISON will fight on.
