Should you still apply if you don’t meet 100% of the job description? 👀

Yes - in many cases, absolutely.

Job descriptions often describe the ideal candidate, and you don’t necessarily need to tick every single box to be worth considering.

If you meet the core requirements, have relevant transferable skills and genuinely believe you could do the job well, don’t let one or two missing criteria stop you from applying.

You may have experience the employer hadn’t considered, or skills that can easily be developed once you’re in the role.

Worst case? You don’t get the job. Best case? You nearly talked yourself out of an opportunity that could have been perfect for you.

See a role you like? Speak to the Industrious Recruitment team and let us help you decide whether it could be the right fit. 💙

Hiring before Christmas? Start now. 🎄

Christmas might still feel a little way off, but if you’re hoping to have someone new in your team before the festive break, now is the time to start recruiting.

Finding the right person takes time. You need to advertise, shortlist, interview, make an offer and potentially accommodate a notice period — and suddenly those few weeks disappear very quickly.

Starting the process now gives you more breathing room to find someone who is genuinely right for the role rather than rushing into a decision because December is approaching.

Planning to grow your team before Christmas? Get in touch with Industrious Recruitment and let’s get the ball rolling.

See the word TEMP on a job advert and immediately scroll past?
You could be missing out on a really good opportunity.
Temporary work can be a brilliant way to get your foot in the door, gain experience, try a different industry or simply get back into work quickly.

And temporary doesn’t always mean short-term.
We regularly recruit for temp-to-perm opportunities, where you can start on a temporary basis with the potential to become a permanent member of the team.

It can also give you the chance to see what a workplace is really like before committing long-term -the team, the role, the commute, the shifts… all the things you can't really know from an interview.

So next time you spot a temporary vacancy that sounds right for you, don’t let the word temp put you off. 👏

Your next permanent opportunity might just start with a temporary one.

A few things we wish every job seeker knew…

You don’t need to tick every single box on a job description to apply.
Please make sure your phone number and email address are up to date - we really do want to speak to you!

If a recruiter calls after you’ve applied, answer or call us back. That unknown number could be the call you’ve been waiting for. 📞

Be honest about your availability, experience and what you’re looking for. It makes it much easier for us to find the right fit for you.

And finally… don’t be afraid to ask questions. Salary, shifts, progression, expectations - you’re deciding whether the job is right for you too.

A good recruiter isn’t just there to fill a vacancy. We want to find a role that works for both you and the employer. 🤝
