We're excited to celebrate a learner who has been named Student of the Year by Ascentis! 👏

Najmeh Kooshesh was presented the certificate by tutor, Jack MacGregor, who had these kind words to say:

"Najmeh has been a fantastic addition to our stepping stones class. She always brings great enthusiasm to every lesson and attacks every topic with positivity and determination.

"She always looks to encourage others and supported other learners through stressful exam periods. She took it upon herself to arrange practice sessions outside of class time with other learners so they could build up their conversation skills ahead of their speaking exam.

"Najmeh has had a lot of real-world concerns to deal with, worrying about her friends and family at home in Iran during a time of conflict. She never let this impact her attitude to learning and always strived to be the best version of herself while at college."

ROOTS Academy Graduation!🎓👏

On 14 July, our Adult and Community Learning Centre celebrated the fantastic ROOTS Academy students who graduated from the programme.

ROOTS Academy is a supportive 12-week course that offers new beginnings for 16–18-year-olds. The programme covers a variety of topics, encouraging learners to explore career opportunities while developing stress management, life, and personal skills.

Our wonderful students celebrated their achievements with friends and family while also receiving special awards in recognition of their outstanding approach, punctuality, supportiveness and enthusiasm.
