Working for a company that truly looks after it's engineers can be tough to find.
On many occasions, engineers are often overworked, undervalued and don't have the opportunity to develop their skillset.
This is an opportunity for a field service engineer with experience within manufacturing and if you have experience within the food industry, then this is highly advantageous.
You will be responsible for, calibrating, maintaining, and installing equipment such as weigh labelling, checkweighers, x ray machines and scales touch screens. This will lead to a very varied role which will give you the opportunity to learn and develop your engineering skills. The customer base is wide.
This role would suit an electrically biased engineer, however there will be some mechanical aspects so basic understanding of mechanical principals is also important. Knowledge of three phase electrics is therefore seen as essential for this post.
This is a permanent position, working 40 hours per week, primarily between 8:30am - 5:30pm ( any hours after will be paid time and a third). Overtime for weekends is available; £75 for Saturday and £125 incentives for Sunday on top. The salary for the role will pay up to 29k + overtime.
You will be covering the North West / North East region and due to the nature of the role, you will be provided with a vehicle, phone and additional overtime opportunities.
Job Specification:
-Service and install a wide range of industrial weighing, labeling, and inspection equipment.
-Investigating complex technical issues such as electrical/ mechanical breakdowns & network related issues
- Demonstrating good working knowledge of 3 phase electrics.
-Good understanding of PC's and software
-Attend, at short notice where needed to support customers and team members
-Provide technical data/documents that support the wider business
-To manage & maintain effective stock levels of parts needed to carry out repairs
-Project a professional image of the department and company to both internal and external customers.
-Maintain company vehicle in a clean and organized fashion ensuring all maintenance requirements are met in accordance with the policy for company vehicle drivers.
-Maintain in good order all company tools, such as Hand tools, ladders, Laptops etc.
-Attend all training courses required to ensure knowledge of equipment both hardware and software is current.
-Adhere to policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety and Quality Management
-Maintain Calibrated weighs & ensure they are compliant.
-When calibrating/ verifying equipment, all legal standards are met & work carried out to Highest standard
-When required write detailed reports on incidents / calls to assist Line manager.
-Participate in out of hours works when required.
-Ensure all administrative tasks are carried out in time & to standards expected.
-Have a full & legally Valid UK driving license.
-Hold a valid Safety Passport/ECS or equivalent - relevant details will be provided
-Work to company KPI's & SLA's
Personal Specification:
-Experience with the food industry advantageous
-Must have electrical qualifications B-TEC or equivalent preferable Electrical/Mechanical engineering
-Dedicated to own personal development
-Works well within a team and contributes to benefit the team
-Full clean drivers licence
-Mechanically competent to a high standard
-Able to work under highly pressurised situations.
