Yesterday, the team at DS towers had a nice surprise when a delivery of cheesecakes came to us, thanks to our neighbours at Blacklock. 🍰

They're currently working to restore the basement of a Grade-II listed building to make into their brand-new Manchester restaurant. While they may be new to the city, they already have a range of successful restaurants in London, and this marks their first venture outside of the capital!

Thanks for the delivery, Blacklock - the team really enjoyed them, and we're looking for to your grand opening in the autumn! ‼️

Our Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment salary survey looks at the pay of women, and their satisfaction with it.

- Pay Concerns: While most women are happy in their roles (59%), many (40%) feel underpaid compared to market rates.
- Bonuses: Only 30% of women expect a bonus, but a surprising 40% are happy with them regardless.
- Job Hopping: Salary isn't the main driver for job changes (only 12% left for more money). Stability seems more important as 48% aren't looking to move.

While certain sectors have a clear pay gap between men and women, our data shows that it isn’t as drastic as it first appears for solicitors and legal professionals.

Our latest Douglas Scott salary survey has revealed some interesting trends in lawyer satisfaction.

- Good News: Overall happiness is up! Nearly 60% of lawyers are happy or somewhat happy in their roles (compared to 56% in 2023)
- Room for Improvement: While unhappiness is down (24% vs 26% in 2023), a significant portion (18%) remains neutral
- Stagnant Market: Despite overall happiness, the number of lawyers likely to change jobs remains flat (25%)
- More Stability: More lawyers (47%) are unlikely to change jobs compared to 2023 (44%)

The data suggests a legal market that's cautiously optimistic. While happiness is rising, some lawyers remain unsatisfied, and the job market appears less volatile.
