One of the things that makes us, us is this right here; the human connection.

Sure we embrace some automation and the try and stay up to date with technical innovation to run our business. But ultimately it is always the relationships we build with our candidates and clients that make the difference.

Finding the right role or candidate can be an emotional and let's be honest, sometimes a draining process for all involved.

We take pride in ensuring that process is a positive one in every way we can.

Getting feedback like this from Lucy is a great reminder to keep that human element at the forefront of our approach, so we stay helpful, communicative and overall deliver a great end result.

What does recruitment outsourcing actually cover for SMEs?

You’re handing over responsibility for the whole hiring process, start to finish.

That usually means:

👉️ Getting clear on the role before going to market
👉️ Managing attraction and filtering properly (not just sending CVs)
👉️ Keeping interviews and feedback moving
👉️ Making sure you actually reach offer stage without it stalling

For most SMEs, hiring sits alongside everything else.
That’s where it slows down or drops off.

RPO keeps it moving so roles don’t just sit open.

This might not be a popular viewpoint. but hard-to-fill roles usually aren’t the problem (sorry).

The way they’re being hired is.

Every day our team are talking to local business leaders and hiring managers and we see the same things come up time and time again with SMEs:

• The role isn’t clear enough - so the wrong people apply
• The process drags - so the right people lose interest
• The search is too narrow - same profiles, same outcome

Here's what you could be doing:

• Be specific on what “good” actually looks like (not a wishlist)
• Cut the process down and move quickly
• Broaden where you’re looking - not just job boards

Ultimately you don’t need more candidates, but you would most likely benefit from a better approach to the ones who already exist.

Internal vs external recruitment is one of the biggest pressure points we hear hiring managers talk about.

And it's totally understandable when getting it wrong can impact their business. It affects speed, risk, and whether the role actually gets filled properly.

So which is better?

Around 75% of candidates research a company before applying, and UK data from CIPD shows employer brand and candidate experience are now key hiring factors. In a more mobile labour market (ONS), businesses are being assessed long before first contact.

We work with clients to assess their candidate attractiveness and uncover actionable insights into how to make their business more appealing to candidates though the end-to-end hiring and employment journey.

Recruitment can be such a headache for growing businesses - especially those with small HR and People teams.

Did you know that UK hiring averages 36-40 days? But often stalls midway, losing 62% of candidates through delays. Ouch!

We work with hiring managers to help tighten their hiring process with faster decisions and clear roles to snap up top talent.

Have you ever been in the situation where a hire looks right on paper, interviews go well, and the first few weeks feel positive… then something just doesn’t click?

👉️ You start checking in more.
👉️ Work takes longer than it should.
👉️ You’re closer to the detail than you expected to be.

That’s usually when it hits.

Not day one. A few weeks in.

That’s the cost of a bad hire. And it adds up quickly.

If your hiring process feels like it’s taking more time and energy than it should, it’s probably worth looking at where it’s slipping.

If you could do with some support and want to know you're options, give us a shout at [email protected]

Most UK hiring takes over a month… but it’s rarely the full timeline that’s the problem.

It’s the delays in between. Slow feedback. Pushed-back interviews. Decisions that take too long.

That’s where you start losing good candidates (and money).

If hiring feels like it’s dragging, it’s worth fixing the process, not just pushing harder.
