Core Teachers are working closely with a lovely Primary School in M9. The school community promotes mutual respect and the value of individuality. School create a positive and secure learning environment where children and staff are motivated to do their best.
This SEN Teaching Assistant role is to work 1:1 with a child in Year 2 with high complex needs. He is a very loving and bright little boy that needs a caring and compassionate individual to support him throughout his school day, guiding him in making the right choices and keeping him focused on his learning.
SEN Teaching Assistant responsibilities:
- To work on a 1:1 basis with an SEN child, directed by the class teacher and/or SENCo, to support in all areas of learning
- To establish a supportive, caring and secure relationship with the child, promoting respect, self-esteem and a positive, inclusive whole school ethos
- To develop knowledge and understanding of the specific academic, emotional an behavioural needs of the child and respond to them effectively
- To help, support and motivate the child, clarifying instructions, encouraging independent learning and behaviour, enabling learning targets and outcomes to be achieved
- To contribute to monitoring and recording pupil progress, maintaining records and providing relevant feedback to teachers
- To provide wellbeing support to the child ensuring needs are met throughout the day
