Two of the most common problems we see in UK sales teams right now.

On one side: managers who want to develop their people but can’t find time to coach between the pipeline reviews, the forecast calls and the admin.

On the other: talented graduates entering sales who genuinely have what it takes, but three months of silence from applications has quietly rewritten the story they tell about themselves.

Both problems are fixable.

Most of them describe something too narrow- a training day, a folder of decks, a CRM no one is using properly.

Real enablement is the ongoing investment in your team’s ability to have the right conversation with the right buyer at the right moment. The word to hold onto is ongoing. Not a project. Not a tick-box exercise.

If your salespeople can’t confidently answer “do I know how to position what we offer against this buyer’s specific situation?” you don’t have enablement yet.

You have assets and hope.

We’ve been quietly tinkering behind the scenes at Mirable… and it all comes down to making things easier for two people:

So the website has had a little glow-up which is ALMOST ready to go live:

Clear paths from the homepage:
“I’m a graduate” or “I’m hiring” – no wandering around 6 menus to work out where you fit.

A simpler way for grads to submit their CV and tell us what they’re looking for – so we can match faster and give better guidance.

Cleaner explanation of what we actually do for clients:

October is where next year’s numbers are made.
Not in January. Not at kick-off. Now.

If you lead a sales team, use this month to reset, refocus, and ramp so Q1 doesn’t start from cold.

Our October playbook:

Reset the rhythm
Shorten meetings, tighten notes, and build market intel into every call. If it’s not captured, it can’t compound.

Refocus on fundamentals
Discovery > demo. Qualification > optimism. Coach for smart questions and clear next steps, not longer pre-screens.

Ruthless pipeline hygiene
Close the “maybe”s. Pull deals forward with clear actions or clear them out. A clean pipe sells faster.

Upgrade enablement
One page per ICP. Three talk tracks per pain. Two objection patterns drilled weekly. Make the right behaviour the easy behaviour.

Sharpen handoffs
Delivery and BD should be one system. Warm intel → stronger pricing power → faster cycle times.

Score the skills
Map each rep on 5 core skills (discovery, qualification, negotiation, written notes, meeting control). Coach to the gap, not to the average.

Outcome: when January lands, your team isn’t “warming up”- they’re already in stride.

“I don’t want sales - I want recruitment.”
“I don’t want recruitment - I want sales.”

We hear this a lot 😅

But here’s the truth: sales and recruitment are not opposites. In fact, they’re intertwined - almost twins. If you can do recruitment, you can sell anything.

The main difference?
In recruitment, you’re running two sales cycles at the same time:
- Selling opportunities to candidates
- Selling candidates to clients

In sales, you’re usually convincing one decision-maker.
In recruitment, your product is the candidate and guess what? They can say no to you. They can ignore your calls, ghost you. That adds complexity, but also the thrill of making the perfect match.

Strip away the titles, and the skills are the same:
✅ Building relationships
✅ Understanding needs
✅ Presenting value
✅ Handling objections
✅ Hitting KPIs
✅ Cold calling
✅ Staying resilient through “no’s”

And the rewards? Both offer high earning potential, career progression, and constant learning- if you have the drive to make it happen.

At Mirable Solutions, we want to banish the mindset that “recruitment isn’t sales”. It absolutely is- and embracing that truth will make you far better at both.

Should a Candidate Video Influence Hiring Decisions? 🤔

At Mirable Solutions, we include short candidate videos with every profile we send. While they’re not meant to make or break a hiring decision, they’re a powerful tool in the early stages of graduate recruitment.

We personally video interview every candidate we put forward — so the clip you see is just one part of a deeper process. It offers a glimpse into their personality, communication style, and potential beyond the CV.

✅ It builds trust in the process
✅ It highlights soft skills that matter
✅ It adds a human touch to hiring

But here’s where it gets tricky:
Many candidates feel nervous about video. Some shine face-to-face but struggle on camera- and others are the opposite. We don’t script or polish these videos. We want them real. Because we believe authenticity always wins.

And yet - some clients judge candidates solely on that short video.

We get it. First impressions count. But we back every candidate we send. We’ve done the work, we’ve had the conversations, and we know what they bring to the table.

So here’s the real question:
• Should video play a bigger role in hiring decisions?
