We’re absolutely delighted to share some fantastic news from the Insider Young Professional Awards 2026 🎉

We were proud to be shortlisted in two categories - Recruitment/HR Professional of the Year and Young Professional Team of the Year - and even prouder to say… we won both.

A huge congratulations to Robert Holland, who took home Recruitment/HR Professional of the Year. Since joining us just over 2 years ago, Rob has made a significant impact within our Private Wealth team. His development, commitment, and willingness to take on increased responsibility, (particularly over the past year) have truly set him apart. He’s become a fantastic advocate for the business, and this recognition is incredibly well deserved. Sadly, Rob was away at a family wedding in Canada and unable to accept in person, but we are keeping his trophy safe at WJR HQ! 🏆

Equally, a massive well done to our outstanding Resource & Finance Team - Chloe Stanley, Callum Wingfield, Ross Kane, and Alex Kathro - on winning Young Professional Team of the Year. We genuinely couldn’t do what we do without them. They are the engine behind the scenes, ensuring our consultants can perform at their best every single day. Their hard work, dedication, and support make a real difference, and this award is a testament to that.

We were genuinely surprised and thrilled on the night! It’s not every day you win every category you’re shortlisted in.

Congratulations as well to all the other winners and nominees. The standard across the board was exceptional. And thank you to Insider Media for hosting such a brilliant event.

We were also incredibly proud to support Spoons Charity Neonatal Support, the charity of the night. They do amazing work and have personally supported members of our team, so it meant a lot to help raise both awareness and funds for such an important cause.

All in all, a fantastic evening — and we’re already looking forward to next year.

Last night we hosted a Sip & Paint evening at the office and it turned out to be such a great way to unwind together. 🎨🥂

Each of us worked from the same postcard of Manchester’s trams and skyline, but the interpretations were anything but the same, from impressively accurate replicas to some very creative takes! It was brilliant to see colleagues focus on something artistic for a change and reveal some hidden talents along the way.

There was definitely a little friendly competition in the air, but mostly it was about enjoying a relaxed evening with a few drinks, plenty of laughs, and good company.

Alongside our bake sale earlier this week, it’s been a really positive and eventful week for everyone at William James Recruitment.

A special thank you to Paint Away Events and Chloe Stanley for the flawless organisation last night.

We swapped CVs for cupcakes today in support of Manchester Women’s Aid, ahead of International Women’s Day later this week 💜

And wow… who knew our legal recruiters had such impressive baking alter egos?

From homemade showstoppers to carefully “curated” shop-bought favourites (no judgement here 👀), the effort across the team was incredible. The office is now running on pure sugar and good vibes.

The best part? We didn’t just hit our £200 target — we smashed it 🎉

Last week was a fantastic one for all of us at William James Recruitment.

Not only were we honoured to win Team of the Year at the Made in Manchester Awards, but we were also delighted to have some of our team attend the Resolution Awards, held at the stunning Lowry Hotel. It was an inspiring evening filled with well-deserved recognition, great conversations, and so much impressive work being celebrated across the profession. We were especially proud to present the Family Lawyer of the Year award. Huge congratulations to Emma Cordock at Cartwright King, a very well-deserved win!

A huge thank you to the organisers for having us - we’re already looking forward to next year.

We’re still coming down from the high of last Thursday evening ✨

It was such an honour (and a genuine privilege) to win Team of the Year at the Made in Manchester Awards 2026.

We were especially proud to have part of our brilliant team there on the night to collect the award. This recognition belongs to all of them - for their hard work, commitment, and for being such fantastic advocates for what we do every single day. We couldn’t do it without you.

A huge thank you to Pro Manchester for another incredible event, impeccably organised, brilliantly hosted, and topped off with an Oasis tribute (the hats were a highlight 👏). We’re already looking forward to next year!
