KPI Education is working with a forward-thinking secondary school in North London to recruit an enthusiastic and emotionally intelligent Graduate Pastoral Teaching Assistant.

This is an exciting opportunity for graduates considering careers in Teaching, Educational Psychology, SEN, Behaviour Support or Pastoral Leadership.

We're looking for someone who can build relationships, raise aspirations and become a positive role model for young people who need it most.

The Role

As a Graduate Pastoral Teaching Assistant, you will:

* Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students experiencing social, emotional and behavioural challenges.
* Support pupils with SEMH, ADHD, Autism and additional learning needs.
* Build positive relationships and encourage confidence, resilience and emotional development.
* Work closely with Pastoral Leaders, SENCOs and teaching staff.
* Support students at risk of disengagement, exclusion or poor attendance.
* Promote positive behaviour and create an inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Graduate

We're particularly interested in graduates who have:

* A 2:1 degree or above (preferred) in Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, Education or a related discipline.
* A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
* Strong communication skills, patience and emotional intelligence.
* An interest in Educational Psychology, Teaching, SEN or Pastoral Leadership.
* Experience in mentoring, coaching, youth work or SEN support (desirable, not essential).

Interested in teaching, but want to experience life in the classroom before committing to teacher training?

KPI Education is working with an ambitious secondary school in Camden, North London, looking for a talented Science graduate to join its Science department as a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant.

This is an opportunity to do far more than simply observe lessons.

You'll put your degree knowledge to use every day - supporting experiments, tackling GCSE misconceptions, running interventions and helping pupils develop confidence across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

For the right graduate, it could also become the first step towards training as a Science teacher in September 2027.

The Opportunity

* £26,000-£30,000 salary / minimum £550 per week
* Full-time role for the 2026/27 academic year
* Based within a thriving secondary Science department
* Support pupils across KS3 and KS4 Science
* Work closely with GCSE classes and intervention groups
* Potential exposure to A-Level Science within the sixth form
* Lead targeted 1:1 and small-group academic sessions
* Support practical experiments and laboratory lessons
* Work alongside experienced Biology, Chemistry and Physics teachers
* Develop your confidence, communication and classroom presence
* Gain first-hand experience of lesson planning and delivery
* Excellent preparation for a PGCE or school-based teacher training route
* Potential progression into teacher training from September 2027

What Could Your Day Look Like?

One lesson you could be helping Year 9 pupils understand chemical reactions.

Next, you might be working with a small group of Year 11 students who are targeting grades 7-9 in their GCSEs.

Later, you could be supporting a Biology practical, helping a pupil finally understand electricity in Physics or preparing revision materials ahead of an assessment.

No two days will be exactly the same.

You'll work closely with qualified Science teachers while gradually developing the confidence to lead interventions, explain concepts independently and potentially deliver sections of lessons.

This is hands-on classroom experience that allows you to find out whether teaching is the career for you.

The school is a diverse and academically ambitious secondary school in Camden, with a busy sixth form and high expectations for its pupils.

Science plays an important role within the curriculum, supported by dedicated laboratories and an established team of subject specialists.

The department wants pupils to see Science as more than an examination subject.

Students are encouraged to experiment, question, analyse and problem-solve while exploring future opportunities within medicine, engineering, healthcare, technology and scientific research.

You'll become part of that environment.

Who Are We Looking For?

We're interested in graduates from backgrounds including:

Biology | Chemistry | Physics | Biochemistry | Biomedical Science | Natural Sciences | Neuroscience | Pharmacology | Engineering and related STEM disciplines

A 2:1 or First-Class degree is highly desirable, but your ability to communicate your subject is just as important.

You don't need to have worked in a school before.

You'll need to be reliable, curious and willing to get involved - whether that's helping with a practical experiment, supporting a struggling pupil or stretching a high-achieving GCSE student.
