Resilience is about how you recharge and not how you endure…

The below article provides an interesting perspective on resilience and how we achieve this.

The main take aways from this article are:

- If you do not give yourself time to recover properly, you are at risk of exhaustion, burn out, low mood and low productivity.

- The key to resilience is trying really hard, then stopping, recovering, and then trying again. Not to keep going when you feel stuck or overwhelmed.

- Rest and recovery are not the same thing. Stopping does not equal recovering.

- There are some good ways to recover mentally and physically suggested in this article.

2 book suggestions are also mentioned:

πŸ“š'The future of happiness' by Amy Blankson
πŸ“š'The sleep revolution' by Arianna Huffington

After working hard for long hours and toughing it out, we at least expect success. However, more often than not, at the end of the day we are exhausted and still have a long list of tasks to complete. Why does this happen? According to the authors, working adults have a fundamental misunderstanding....

Our annual company holiday - we travelled to sunny Gran Canaria 🌞

As a remote company it is SO important that we spend time together in person as much as we can and where better than on our annual holiday!

We enjoyed a sightseeing trip around the island, experienced an unexpected festival and some of us even enjoyed camel riding or a spot of golf β›³

We have never been closer as a team and it was a well-deserved break for all.

Please see some fun photos below - we definitely have some great photographers at recognition one πŸ“Έ

How we spent International Women's day at Recognition One 🚺

We attended a talk by Eliza Manningham-Buller who was Director General of MI5 between 2002 and 2007.

When taking about leadership in challenging times she mentioned the importance of prioritising, collecting intelligence and asking for the opinions of others to ensure an informed decision is made.

When asked about role models - she said although it is important to see people you relate to in someway in important roles, you should never model yourself on someone else - BE YOURSELF.

Lastly, she made a good point that you learn just as much from other peoples mistakes and you do their successes.

Below is a picture of the amazing women at Recognition One (though it is missing our wonderful Molly Taylor). We want to thank you all for everything you do! 🌟
