We're looking for people in FM who can spare a few hours this autumn to change how a teenager sees our industry.
Earlier this year Michelle sat down with Elif Gurger, the new Careers Co-Ordinator at Highams Park School, to talk about something we care a lot about: getting more young people to see facilities management as a career worth having.
That conversation turned into a proper partnership, and this term there's a run of employability events where students get real help and real exposure to the world of work.
First up is a Year 9 Employability Day on 7 October: CV writing, personal statements, and interview practice. The students get far more out of it when the people in the room actually do the hiring.
That's where our network comes in. If you work in FM and can give a morning, you'd be helping young people build CVs that stand out and showing them jobs they didn't know existed.
The skills shortage everyone in our world complains about doesn't fix itself. It gets fixed in rooms like these.
If you can spare a few hours this term, or you know someone who'd be brilliant at it, get in touch: [email protected]
