We have some exciting news to share!

We are proud to announce that we have been named a preferred supplier to a major public sector organisation in the South East, and this truly means a great deal to us.

This recognition didn't happen overnight. We have worked hard to demonstrate our commitment to precision, genuine partnership, and placing the right people in the right roles. Central to securing this status was our thorough approach to candidate vetting — we understand the exacting standards that public sector organisations require, and we take that responsibility seriously.

We believe public sector recruitment demands more than just filling vacancies. It demands accountability, dedication, and a team that genuinely cares about getting it right, and that is exactly what we bring to every instruction.

If you are a public sector organisation looking for a recruitment partner with proven experience and the rigour to match, we would love to hear from you.

A lot of companies talk about diversity in recruitment. They add it to their briefs, put it in their job ads, and then shortlist the same profile they always have.

Real inclusion means building it into the sourcing process. Actively seeking candidates from underrepresented groups. Challenging unconscious bias at the briefing stage. Being honest with clients when their brief is too narrow.

Bridge was founded with D&I at its core. Not as a service line. Not as a marketing angle. As the way we approach every search, every conversation, every shortlist.

That's not something we shout about constantly. But it felt worth saying clearly.

What does your D&I recruitment process actually look like in practice?

The FM job brief has changed.

Here's what we're hearing from employers right now:

1️⃣ ESG and sustainability reporting knowledge - not just an interest, practical experience

2️⃣ Tech fluency - IoT systems, CAFM platforms, demand-led scheduling tools

3️⃣ Compliance expertise - Building Safety Act, COSHH, health & safety qualifications

4️⃣ TUPE and workforce planning experience - especially as contracts go back out to tender

5️⃣ Genuine people management skills - not just task management. The ability to hold a team together

Some of these are new. Some have been important for years but are now non-negotiable.

If you're hiring in FM right now - which of these is hardest to find?

Bridge specialises in exactly these profiles. If you need one: [email protected]

When a TUPE process begins, it’s more than a legal transition - it’s a people transition.

For many organisations, TUPE can be a complex and uncertain time. Teams are moving, structures are changing, and maintaining continuity becomes critical.

That’s where the right talent strategy matters.

At Bridge Recruitment, we support clients through TUPE by:
✅ Identifying gaps early and securing the right people quickly
✅ Providing interim and permanent talent to maintain service delivery
✅ Understanding the sensitivities involved - for both incoming and existing teams
✅ Working in partnership, not just as a supplier

Because during periods of change, it’s not just about filling roles - it’s about protecting performance, culture, and stability.

If you’re navigating a TUPE process, having the right people in place can make all the difference.

We've helped navigate a lot of them - get in touch: [email protected]

Emma had been thinking about a move for a while. A better work/life balance was the goal, but she hadn't found the right moment to start looking - and wasn't sure she was ready to.
Then the right opportunity came along at the right time. She was wary at first, which is completely understandable. Making a change you haven't fully committed to yet takes a certain amount of trust.

Here's what Emma said afterwards:
"Regular updates and support made looking for a new job less like a chore and more like a seamless transition to a better work/life balance for me and my family."

Emma is now Building Safety Manager in the Public Sector, placed by Bridge Recruitment. She rated every stage of the process 5 out of 5 - from how the opportunity was introduced, through to interview preparation and post-interview support.

This kind of outcome comes from staying genuinely close to candidates over time, not just reaching out when there's a role to fill. Knowing who might be ready for a conversation before they've started looking themselves.

Thank you, Emma - and congratulations on the new role.

If you're working in FM and you've been quietly thinking about a change, an early conversation costs nothing: bridgerecruitment.co.uk

Mental Health Awareness Week - continuing the conversation.

The FM job search can be a long one. The sector has a relatively small talent pool, which means competition for the right roles is real, and the process takes longer than most people expect. Some applications get no response, interviews that seem to go well and then go quiet, and the general uncertainty of not knowing where you actually stand.

Good recruitment should reduce that stress, not add to it. That means being honest about timelines, being upfront when a role isn't the right fit, and not putting someone forward just to look active.

If you're currently looking for work in FM and finding the process harder than expected, it's worth having a conversation with someone who knows the sector well. We'll give you a straight read on where things stand and what might be worth pursuing.

FM is an industry built on resilience 🌍

This year’s World FM Day theme “Resilience in Action: Thriving in a World of Change” couldn’t be more accurate.

Behind every safe, efficient, and functioning building is a team constantly adapting. From managing ageing infrastructure to responding to unexpected issues, FM professionals are the ones who keep everything moving, often without recognition.

At Bridge, we see that resilience first-hand.

We work with facilities managers, and workplace teams who solve problems daily, balance competing pressures, and keep environments running in the face of constant change.

So today we celebrate the people behind the function.

The ones who step in before problems escalate.

The ones who adapt when plans change.

The ones who make resilience look routine.

Happy World FM Day to you all 🌍

Mental Health Awareness Week: 11 to 17 May.

Job searching isn’t just a process - for many, it’s a silent mental health challenge.

Behind every CV sent and interview attended, there can be real pressure building: uncertainty, repeated rejection, financial stress, and a loss of routine. Over time, this can contribute to issues like anxiety, depression, and burnout.

At Bridge, we recognise that people aren’t just candidates, they’re humans navigating one of the most stressful periods in their lives.

That’s why we do things differently:
• We communicate - no ghosting, no silence
• We give honest, constructive feedback
• We treat every interaction with empathy and respect
• We support candidates beyond just “filling a role”

Because how people feel during the hiring process matters.

Mental Health Awareness Week is a reminder that small actions, clear communication, kindness, respect, and transparency can have a big impact.

We see a lot of FM job briefs. Most are just job descriptions with a salary attached.

That’s not a brief. That’s a wish list.

A strong FM brief tells a recruiter what’s already been tried. What didn’t work - and why. What the team dynamics are really like. What success looks like at 3 months and at 12.

It also tells candidates - the right candidates - whether this is genuinely the right move for them. That’s how you avoid another bad hire.

Bridge has been recruiting into FM and cleaning for over 20 years. We ask the questions others often skip, not to be difficult, but because the answers shape the shortlist that actually works.

So what does your current briefing process look like?

If you're about to hire and want to do it properly, we'd love to talk: [email protected]

Some of the strongest FM hires are not always actively looking for a move. What changed was a conversation with someone they already trusted in the sector.

Job boards serve a purpose, particularly for active candidates at entry and mid-level. But when you're looking for someone to drive change, develop high level relationships, or take strategic responsibility for growth, the performing individuals are often not the ones applying to adverts.

Building the kind of relationships that surface those candidates takes time. It means staying in contact with people across the sector over years, not months. It means knowing who might be open to a conversation before they've said it out loud.

When we send a shortlist, it tends to include candidates you wouldn't have found any other way.
