ELBA Graduate Local Employment Scheme

ELBA Graduate Local Employment Scheme The EaGLES programme was created in 2005, to address the high unemployment and underemployment levels in east London.

The ELBA Graduate Local Employment Scheme (EaGLES) was created in 2005, to address the high unemployment and underemployment levels in east London, with a particular focus on Islington and the five Olympic Boroughs (Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Newham, Greenwich and Waltham Forest). The carefully selected candidates undergo three weeks of intensive training at ELBA followed by a six-month paid work pla

cement at a prestigious company in the City or Canary Wharf. These companies benefit from having a job-ready trainee with a detailed understanding of the needs of east London that adds value to CSR programmes and local recruitment strategies. This experience results in the graduates becoming highly employable, in fact 96% of the 75 graduates who successfully completed the scheme have gone on to find permanent employment.
