Trainee Engineering Buyer / Order Processor
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has previously worked within a manufacturing company and is looking to build a career as an Engineering Buyer. You will be working as part of a team reporting to the Production Scheduler. For the initial role you will be working from parts list and processing orders to a list of established suppliers. In the long term you will have the opportunity to make the job your own, where you can negotiate prices, establish new suppliers and become a key figure within the company.

Your initial duties will include:
Transacting all purchasing for stock, live projects and site requirements, Using our ERP System, (EPICOR)
Upkeep and development of production status report. (Excel spreadsheets and Slack)
Work closely with the logistics team to gain a full understanding of part delivery status and finished product despatch requirements.
Work closely with the onsite project teams to ensure they have a smooth supply of parts.
Closing and reconciling of shop orders, month end stock reconciliation for Electrical and Controls workshops, purchase orders, shop orders, warehouse locations etc.,
Attending production planning and supplier meetings to fully understand the needs of the workshops.
Prepare shipments for project related site requirements.
The above is a brief overview of the position, there is ample room to continually develop the role within this forward thinking and expanding department.

Technical criteria (knowledge, skills and aptitude, education)
Knowledge of any ERP/MRP system is preferred, but not essential.
Excellent numeracy skills.
Proficient in Microsoft office particularly data analysis using Excel, the use of formulae, charts and pivot tables would be a significant advantage.
Excellent attention to detail, thorough in approach, checks work systematically to ensure it is sufficiently detailed and reliable.
Customer driven.

Ability to build and maintain good working relationships.

The Company

Key responsibilities
Working as part of a team you will play a key role maintaining customer interface with both new and established clients. One of the core tasks will reside in contacting clients that have become dormant, updating all necessary details on the database and reassigning those clients to the sales team as necessary. You will need to be a customer focussed team player for this interesting role covering internal sales and technical administration of our product. Technical quotation is a large part of this role. Following up outstanding sales opportunities and web downloads via email and telephone is also required to ensure we remain in contact with existing as well as new customers. Some cold calling is part of the role to potential new customers, to generate sales opportunities to our Business Development Team.

The Duties will include:
Regular telephone and email contact with customers
Updating CRM system with relevant contact information that you have verified.
Speaking with customers on a day-to-day basis to evaluate potential.
Understanding of why and where the company is successful and help develop these markets
Evaluating and identifying customers for sales team to develop.
Understanding / identification as to why the company was not the preferred choice
Database management inc. dormant account identification and re-engagement.
Maintenance of the site-visit system.
Commercial invoicing.

Through your own research be able to investigate potential customers for our range of products
Prepare technical quotations and quote follow ups.
Enter new sales leads, follow up initial enquiries.
Process sales orders converted from quotations.
Send order acknowledgements, pro forma invoices.
Prepare works orders for the manufacturing department.

The Person
The company are looking for a dynamic and confident internal sales team player who has the drive to improve sales from new, and old customers, evaluating and developing opportunities they identify by market research and telesales enquiries.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with all aspects of communication in sales and will be excellent at interpreting customer potential and creating leads to be developed either internally or by our external sales team. You will be using CRM to keep all customer information up to date, and to inform customers about our products.

Working closely with the sales team you will have the skills to identify areas of growth and potential within specific markets and assist in developing these customers into long standing partners with the company.

ASSEMBLER / TEST TECHNICIAN

Urgent Permanent Vacancy

Long established manufacturing company are looking to recruit an experienced Assembler / Wirer to join their manufacturing team. This is an interesting and varied role working as part of a friendly team.

You will be responsible for building small to medium precision electromechanical assemblies working from drawings and verbal instructions. This will require performing fine soldering to high standards, as well as general mechanical and electro mechanical assembly. The tools you will use includes soldering irons, pliers, cutters, screw drivers, spanners, allen keys, wrenches, jigs and general bench assembly equipment.

Once the units are assembled you will then perform basic testing to ensure the product performs its basic functions. Where required you would then make the necessary repairs to correct any errors.

To be considered for the role you will need:
Relevant assembly experience together with good soldering skills
To have good eyesight with the manual dexterity necessary to perform sometimes small fiddley work
Have a good attention to detail and take pride in going a good job.

Please note this would not suit someone who is purely a PCB assembler. You must have more general electro mechanical experience.
