Trainee Engineering Buyer / Order Processor
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has previously worked within a manufacturing company and is looking to build a career as an Engineering Buyer. You will be working as part of a team reporting to the Production Scheduler. For the initial role you will be working from parts list and processing orders to a list of established suppliers. In the long term you will have the opportunity to make the job your own, where you can negotiate prices, establish new suppliers and become a key figure within the company.
Your initial duties will include:
Transacting all purchasing for stock, live projects and site requirements, Using our ERP System, (EPICOR)
Upkeep and development of production status report. (Excel spreadsheets and Slack)
Work closely with the logistics team to gain a full understanding of part delivery status and finished product despatch requirements.
Work closely with the onsite project teams to ensure they have a smooth supply of parts.
Closing and reconciling of shop orders, month end stock reconciliation for Electrical and Controls workshops, purchase orders, shop orders, warehouse locations etc.,
Attending production planning and supplier meetings to fully understand the needs of the workshops.
Prepare shipments for project related site requirements.
The above is a brief overview of the position, there is ample room to continually develop the role within this forward thinking and expanding department.

Technical criteria (knowledge, skills and aptitude, education)
Knowledge of any ERP/MRP system is preferred, but not essential.
Excellent numeracy skills.
Proficient in Microsoft office particularly data analysis using Excel, the use of formulae, charts and pivot tables would be a significant advantage.
Excellent attention to detail, thorough in approach, checks work systematically to ensure it is sufficiently detailed and reliable.
Customer driven.
Team player
Ability to build and maintain good working relationships.
Adaptable, demonstrates a willingness to take the initiative with problems and opportunities.
Biographical data (where and how skills acquired)
Minimum of two years' experience working within manufacturing environment is advantageous.
Having worked in stock control environment would be preferred but not essential.
Ability to demonstrate a best practise approach in the workplace.
Good team worker together with the ability to prioritise workload.
Ability to motivate and influence others.
To focus and analyse the needs of internal customers and develop an understanding of these issues.
Ability to review and adapt plans to meet the changing business needs and/or deadlines.
Good communication skills.
