πŸ“’ NEW ROLE – FIELD SALES | BRISTOL

I’m working on a new field-based B2B sales opportunity covering Bristol and the surrounding area, selling material handling equipment and solutions into businesses across a range of sectors.

This is a proper territory sales role combining new business development with account management.

You’ll be:
πŸ”Ή Developing and growing existing customer accounts
πŸ”Ή Prospecting and winning new business across the territory
πŸ”Ή Visiting customer sites and understanding their operational requirements
πŸ”Ή Putting together equipment solutions and commercial proposals
πŸ”Ή Managing opportunities from first conversation through to negotiation and order

You don't need to come directly from material handling.

I’d particularly like to speak with field salespeople from capital equipment, plant & machinery, construction equipment, industrial products, engineering or similar B2B environments.

Full technical/product training is available for someone with the right commercial background.

πŸ’° Competitive basic salary + commission
πŸš— Company vehicle
πŸ“ Bristol / South West
πŸ“ˆ Established territory with new-business potential
🏒 Major international organisation

If you're good at developing relationships but still enjoy the hunt for new business, this is worth a conversation.

πŸ” Health & Safety professionals with genuine operational experience are becoming increasingly difficult to find.

I've recently met with an excellent Health, Safety & Compliance professional who is now open to new opportunities across Kent and the South East.

Without giving too much away, here's why they stood out:
βœ… NEBOSH qualified
βœ… Experience across five operational hospital sites
βœ… Health & Safety, Fire & Security compliance
βœ… RIDDOR investigations and incident management
βœ… Health & Safety audits and inspections
βœ… Risk & COSHH assessments
βœ… Board-level reporting and governance
βœ… Strong stakeholder management across operational, estates and clinical teams

What impressed me most wasn't the qualifications, it was the environment they've worked in.

When you're supporting safety, compliance and operational risk within busy healthcare facilities, there's very little room for error. That experience translates exceptionally well into sectors such as:
β€’ Fire & Security
β€’ Building Services / M&E
β€’ Facilities Management
β€’ Mission Critical / Data Centres
β€’ Healthcare Estates
β€’ Industrial Engineering

If your business is looking to strengthen its Health & Safety function with someone who combines compliance knowledge with practical operational experience, I'd be happy to have a confidential conversation.

🚨 A recent incident in Leamington Spa highlights the importance of prioritizing health and safety in the construction industry. A bricklayer fell over 2 metres while replacing steps at a residential property, resulting in life-changing injuries. The company, Sibbasbridge Ltd, was fined £16,000 for their negligence. As a recruiter, I've seen firsthand how a lack of attention to safety protocols can have devastating consequences. It's crucial for construction companies to ensure they're hiring candidates who prioritize safety and have the necessary training and experience. Let's rethink our approach to health and safety in the workplace.

πŸ“Š Let's face it, hiring in healthcare is tough. With a friction score of 25 in job descriptions, it's no wonder candidates are dropping off. The good news is that clarity scores are strong at 84, meaning job ads are well-written. However, a requirement overload score of 25 suggests some roles may be over-specifying, deterring candidates. By streamlining job descriptions and removing unnecessary requirements, hiring managers can improve candidate engagement and fill roles more efficiently. This is not about watering down requirements, but about focusing on what really matters.

πŸ“‰ The building materials sector is facing a hiring crisis - and it's not just about finding the right people. Our analysis of 21 roles in the sector reveals a perfect storm of high friction, low clarity, and excessive requirements. With average friction scores reaching 84 and clarity scores as low as 15, it's no wonder candidate drop-off is a major issue.
To fix this, hiring managers need to rethink their approach - focusing on what's really essential for the role, rather than piling on unnecessary requirements. By streamlining the hiring process and improving clarity, companies can significantly improve their recruitment outcomes.
Let's get back to basics and build a stronger foundation for hiring in the building materials sector.

The aggregates and minerals industry is a vital part of our economy, providing the materials needed for construction and infrastructure projects πŸŒ†. As the demand for these materials continues to grow, it's essential that we focus on sustainable and efficient production methods. This can include investing in new technologies and equipment, as well as implementing environmentally friendly practices. By doing so, we can help reduce the industry's carbon footprint and ensure a stable supply of aggregates and minerals for future generations.

πŸ“Š The UK recruitment market is getting tougher by the day - candidates are becoming increasingly selective and companies are struggling to find the right fit. You're hiring the wrong profile if you're focusing solely on skills and experience, it's time to rethink this approach. Let's look at the bigger picture - company culture, values and long-term goals.
