It's World Hypertension Day. Many of your patients do not know their blood pressure or the telltale signs of high blood pressure. The day is to raise public awareness about the importance of early recognition which can put extra strain on the heart and blood vessels as well as damage to other vital organs. Over time this can cause a heart attack or stroke. Most pharmacies will offer BP readings, however in some instances depending on your symptoms, and age you may need to see a GP.
