🌟LEARNING MENTORS – WOKINGHAM, WE NEED YOU!🌟

Are you an experienced, patient and compassionate Learning Mentor who enjoys helping young people build confidence, develop independence and learn valuable life skills?

We’re currently looking for FOUR Learning Mentors in Wokingham to provide 1:1 support to young people with SEND/SEMH, helping them to become more confident, independent and comfortable within their local community. 💙

This isn’t your typical school-based Learning Mentor role. Instead, you’ll be supporting young people out in the community, helping them develop the practical skills they need as they prepare for adulthood.

Your support could include:
🚌 Using public transport – helping young people become more confident travelling by bus and navigating their local area.

☕ Visiting cafés and shops – supporting them to develop confidence in everyday situations and become more independent when accessing local facilities.

🏘️ Exploring the local community – encouraging young people to feel comfortable and confident in different community settings.

💬 Developing communication and social skills – helping them build positive interactions and feel more confident communicating with others.

🌱 Building independence – supporting them to develop practical life skills and take important steps towards adulthood.

💪 Building confidence – celebrating progress, encouraging independence and helping each young person recognise what they are capable of.

This is a really rewarding opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference to young people's lives. You’ll have the opportunity to build strong relationships with the young people you support and help them develop skills that can have a lasting impact on their future.

If you’re someone who is patient, proactive, approachable and passionate about supporting young people with SEND/SEMH, we’d love to hear from you!🙌
