About the Role:
We’re on the hunt for a motivated Junior Road Freight Operator to help keep our container transport operations running smoothly. If you’ve got experience with the Vehicle Booking System (VBS) and know your way around container logistics, we’d love to hear from you!

What You’ll Do:
📅 Schedule container pickups and deliveries using VBS.
📞 Work with drivers, shipping lines, and port authorities to keep things moving.
📍 Track container movements and update systems.
⚡ Help solve transport hiccups and delays.
🗂️ Keep records of bookings, movements, and documents tidy.
🤝 Support senior staff with day-to-day tasks.

What You’ll Need:
✔️ Experience with VBS in a container transport setting.
✔️ Basic knowledge of port operations and container logistics.
✔️ Great communication and organisational skills.
✔️ Ability to handle a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
✔️ Skills in transport management systems and Microsoft Office.

Bonus Points:
✨ Worked with hauliers or freight forwarders.
✨ Familiar with customs procedures and container tracking systems.

Key Responsibilities

📦 Process and complete import/export entries using CDS for European road freight and deep-sea ocean freight.
📚 Confidently navigate HMRC’s online tariffs and understand customs commodity codes, procedures, and CDS requirements.
🌍 Apply knowledge of Free Trade Agreements, Origin, and Preference.
🛃 Handle a variety of entry declarations (e.g., home use, returned goods, temporary import/export, multiple items).
⚓ Work with CNS and Destin8 port systems (experience with Multifreight/Multished software is a plus).
💸 Calculate and process customs duties and taxes for efficient goods clearance.
📞 Communicate effectively with customs authorities, shipping agents, internal teams, and clients to resolve issues and provide guidance.
📝 Raise T1 documents and apply knowledge of the transit procedure.
🧾 Create jobs and handle invoicing.

Skills & Requirements
✅ Strong attention to detail to meet AEO standards.
💻 Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

🤝 Team player, ensuring prompt and high-quality service for key clients.
