The SEB Mentoring Scheme 2026–2027 is open to all SEB members, offering a chance to connect with fellow members, exchange experience and support professional development.

Whether you’re looking for guidance as a mentee or would like to share your experience as a mentor, the scheme offers a valuable opportunity to build connections, develop skills and gain new perspectives.

📅 A training session/meeting will take place in October to explain how the scheme works, what to expect and how mentoring relationships will be supported throughout the year.

The scheme will run from December 2026 to December 2027.

🌱 The Plant Journal is now Gold Open Access!
We’re pleased to share that The Plant Journal has transitioned to Gold Open Access.

From now on, all new research accepted for publication will be freely available to readers worldwide, removing subscription barriers and helping plant science reach a wider audience.

This move will benefit:
🔬 Researchers — with free access to the latest plant science research

🌱 Authors — with the opportunity to reach a wider global audience

📚 Students & readers — with easier access to new discoveries and findings

Authors at hundreds of institutions may also be eligible to have their Article Processing Charge (APC) covered through Wiley’s Read & Publish agreements.

And if you’re an SEB member, you’re eligible for a 10% discount on the APC.

The Plant Journal has transitioned to Gold Open Access! 🌱

From now on, all new submissions accepted for publication will be published Open Access, making the research freely available to readers around the world without subscription paywalls.

This is an important step towards making high-impact plant science research more accessible to the global research community, helping authors reach wider audiences while giving researchers, students and other readers free access to the latest findings in plant biology.

Authors at hundreds of institutions may also be eligible to have the Article Processing Charge (APC) covered through Wiley’s Read & Publish agreements. SEB members are additionally eligible for a 10% discount on the APC.
