We are delighted to announce that Digitalent - AI & Machine Learning Recruitment have partnered up with lumo. to launch a brand new service called the ‘AI Readiness Advisory’! 🚀 🚀

This is something we have been working on for several weeks behind the scenes and I am mad excited for it to finally see the light of day! 😍

Both Digitalent and Lumo are members of UKAI and I met Joe Buckingham at The House of Lords several months ago at a UKAI roundtable on AI in Healthcare.

When we starting chatting about our respective businesses, we realised that we were hearing the same phrase over and over again from our clients...

“We need to do AI.”

We’ve both lost count how many times we’ve heard this in the last 12 months.

But when we dig deeper, what most exec teams actually mean is:

👉 We know we should be doing something with AI...

👉 We just don’t know where to start

👉 And we definitely don’t want to waste time or money doing the wrong thing

So we’ve teamed up with Joe, Krantik and the team at Lumo to fix that.

Together, we’ve launched the AI Readiness Advisory.

This is a practical, board-level service that helps leadership teams turn curiosity (and confusion) into clarity, and then into credible action.

In 4–6 weeks, we’ll help you:

✅ Understand where your organisation really is with AI

✅ Align your leadership team around the ambition

✅ Uncover use cases with actual value

✅ Walk away with a clear, de-risked 90-day plan

You can check out more information on the service on our website (link to the page in the comments below) 👇👇👇

If you’re an executive leader and your team is stuck between “We need to do AI” and “what the hell do we do now?”... this is for you.

This service has been built by two consultancies with boots on the ground in both AI recruitment and AI enablement.

A big day for both Digitalent and Lumo! 🚀🚀

A post from our Founder .careers…

“I recently shared some thoughts with Dan Milmo, Global Technology Editor at The Guardian about what’s actually happening with AI in the job market.

This is what I think is the real AI opportunity in today’s market…

Contrary to a lot of the doom and gloom stories we read and hear about surrounding AI, what we’re seeing at Digitalent - AI & Machine Learning Recruitment isn’t AI eliminating jobs it’s creating an entirely new category of AI-adjacent positions.

Dan’s article is really interesting and well balanced, with insightful input from many leaders in the UK with valuable perspectives.

If you fancy reading it, I’ve posted a link to the full article in the comments 👇🏻

One of my quotes in the article was:

“It is opening windows to jobs that did not exist 12 months ago, like AI ethics and prompt engineering. New roles are being born.”

I wanted to expand on that point a little bit…

First and foremost I wanted to say that I really believe that.

Similar to the birth of the internet with whole new categories emerging such as e-commerce, I think AI will end up being one the biggest new industry creators the world has ever seen (over the medium to long term).

The real risk isn’t really the technology taking jobs in my opinion. It’s that educational institutions and government policy aren’t adapting quickly enough.

Universities need to embed AI learning across all subjects to prepare graduates for these emerging opportunities.

Without this shift, we’re sleepwalking towards a colossal skills gap rather than just simply mass unemployment in the short term.

For today’s professionals and graduates, here’s my advice…

🧠 Focus less on competing against AI and more on developing the skills you need to work alongside it. 🧠

The most valuable positions will sit at the intersection of human expertise and AI capabilities.

What AI-adjacent roles are you seeing emerge in your industry?

And is your organisation prepared for this shift?

Thanks for everything and see you at work! ❤️

Chris”

🚀 How To Build An AI Team From Scratch 🚀

Today, we're diving into the key technical roles that are essential for a successful AI team: Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Engineers.

First up, let's talk about Machine Learning Engineers. These experts are the architects of AI models. They design, build, and deploy machine learning models that power your AI applications. Their work involves a deep understanding of algorithms, programming, and software engineering principles. They are critical because they turn theoretical models into practical solutions that can be integrated into your products or services.

Next, we have Data Scientists. Data Scientists are the detectives of your data. They analyze and interpret complex data to help your organization make data-driven decisions. Their skill set includes statistical analysis, data visualization, and domain expertise. Data Scientists work closely with Machine Learning Engineers to refine models and extract actionable insights from data, ensuring your AI initiatives are both innovative and effective.

Finally, let's discuss Data Engineers. These professionals are the backbone of your data infrastructure. They design and manage the systems that collect, store, and process data at scale. Data Engineers ensure that data is accessible, reliable, and ready for analysis by Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers. Their role is crucial because a robust data pipeline is foundational for any AI project to succeed.

By recruiting these three key roles early on, you establish a strong technical foundation for your AI team. Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Engineers each bring unique skills and perspectives that are essential for the development and implementation of successful AI projects.

So, what are your thoughts on these crucial roles? Have you started building your AI team yet? Let me know in the comments!

The Digitalent Story

Digitalent is a digital recruitment agency run by two best friends who live on the opposite sides of the planet to one another!

Our Founder and Managing Director, Chris Morrow, launched Digitalent in August 2017 after returning to the UK from Sydney where he lived with his young family for five years.

After twelve months of hard slog and working some very long hours to establish the business in the UK from scratch, the opportunity came up for Dillan Leslie-Rowe to come on board and help Chris launch the Digitalent brand in Australia. Dillan is now Managing Partner with Digitalent Australia and has successfully gained a foothold in the Melbourne and Sydney markets since coming on board in July 2017.

Chris and Dillan have been friends since 2008. They were introduced by a mutual friend and hit it off immediately through their mutual love of electronic music and all things raving!
