Hiring now checks that you are you.

Gartner predicts that by 2028, one in four candidate profiles worldwide will be fake. In a 2025 Gartner survey of 3,000 candidates, 6% admitted to interview fraud. Gartner advises employers to check identity and authenticity at every stage of hiring, not only at the first screening.

For candidates, that means keeping details consistent across your resume, profile and ID, and knowing what each employer allows.

In the UAE it is 21 days of basic salary per year for the first five years, then 30 days a year after that, capped at two years of wages. You need twelve months of continuous service to qualify. Since Federal Decree-Law 33 of 2021, resigning costs you nothing: the old reductions to a third and two thirds were abolished.

Saudi is different in almost every respect. Half a month per year for the first five years, a full month after that, calculated on your last full wage including fixed allowances rather than basic alone. And resignation still carries a penalty under Article 85: nothing under two years, one third from two to five, two thirds from five to ten, and the full award only at ten years or more.

That is from a Resume.org survey of 1,399 US workers with knowledge of their company's hiring practices. Only 26% said a person checks every rejection.

So the silence after an application often is not a person deciding you are not right. It is a threshold you sat below. Which is worth knowing, because you can do something about a threshold.
