As social workers are re-registering with Social Work England, it’s worth remembering that CPD isn’t just about compliance - it’s an opportunity to pause, reflect and grow.

You must record at least two pieces of CPD, and at least one must include a peer reflection - a chance to discuss your learning with another registered social worker. One practitioner summed it up beautifully:

“Sharing my experiences and seeking guidance is good for my wellbeing. It is protected time for me to think.”

Reflective conversations strengthen practice, wellbeing and professional confidence. They’re at the heart of what makes social work resilient and effective.
