Yep, you read that right – a recruitment company is trialling the 4-day working week 👀
Over the past year, I have read many positive articles on the 4-day working week – 61 companies in the UK trialled this from June to December last year and 92% have continued, on a permanent basis.
Of course, like anything, there are pros and cons to everything, and this model doesn’t work for everyone, but we’re prepared to trial it and pray the pros outweigh the cons 🙏
Recruitment is tough and many recruiters will be able to tell you about burnout, not finding the time to switch off, go to the gym etc – we’re not about that and want to be able to promote the positives:
📈 Stronger focus and productivity
🧠 Looking after your health and being able to do a gym class in peace
💪 Lower stress levels
😎 Lay in bed on a Friday or do your chores, allowing you to spend Sat & Sun being with family and friends, hobbies, long weekends away
We are all taking Fridays off – we have decided against staggering the days off simply because if everyone else is working on your day off, you get work anxiety and your colleagues will still email / message you (we’ve all been there!) – you can’t fully relax.
Our team are fully onboard and are excited for this trial – we have set clear expectations around our goals and what we want to achieve over the 4 days. We kick off the trial on Monday!
Work / life balance is key in life – you shouldn’t have to work 5 days in order to get 2 off.
Let’s change things up – any other companies thinking of trialling the 4-day week too, especially within the recruitment space?
Would love to hear your thoughts.
