For a long time, "diversity" in high-stakes industries felt like a compliance checklist. But International Airlines Group (IAG) is proving that true equity requires a complete structural overhaul, especially in technical, engineering, and digital roles.

Here are 3 signs of real progress highlighted in their 2026 strategy that every woman in tech and aviation should look for in an employer:
- Data-driven accountability: Moving past "intent" by publishing transparent gender and ethnicity pay gap reports and linking diversity to leadership performance.
- Rewiring the pipeline: Actively dismantling barriers for female pilots, engineers, and tech professionals through early-career outreach and targeted mentorship.
- Unconditional inclusion: Creating workplaces that actually support neurodiversity, menopause, and mental health, rather than forcing people to fit into a rigid mold.
