Ever feel like your work day is over before it even really starts? The way you begin your morning sets the tone for everything that follows..
Two years ago, I had no productive work routine - let alone a morning routine. I’d jump between four different tasks at once, only to finish none of them. To-do lists? Nonexistent. My desk was buried under piles of paperwork, and I had no clue what was in them. Chaos ruled my days.
Fast forward to today, and I can’t imagine life without my structured routine. It keeps me focused, organised, and in control - something I never thought possible back then.
Here's a few pointers that I follow EVERYDAY and since really forming these into my routine I have personally seen a huge impact on my daily efficiency.
✅ Plan Ahead / Prioritise - Prioritise your work tasks into two lists;
1. Must Do! Things I can't leave the day without doing.
2. Should Do! Things that I really should get done today but if not it wont hinder others and I can pick up tomorrow.
If you find the majority of your work tasks are falling into the "Must Do" list each day, you are probably taking on to much! Make some time to revaluate your lists throughout the day and see if any tasks can be delegated to someone in your team.
✅ Avoid the Chaos – Resist checking emails or social media as soon as you wake up!
✅ Fuel Up First – A balanced breakfast, water and your morning coffee takes priority. (It is proven this helps sustain productivity).
✅ Declutter your Desk - A messy work space and preoccupied mind will steal your attention, distracting you from getting things done efficiently!
