The government plans to make the reporting of the gender pay gap mandatory starting in 2027.

This will help ensure everyone gets paid an equal amount of money for their hard work. The work plan will also require organisations to state how they are supporting their employees who have reached menopause.

Remember Trump's executive action last year asking universities and colleges to provide race and gender data for new admissions?

Although this has been done before for financing purposes, this was a strange ask coming from Trump, given that he had already tried to end DEI in businesses and colleges.

The good news is that Stephanie Gallagher, a federal judge, already blocked the directive to stop DEI initiatives in institutions of higher learning last year.

Back to the latest data collection directive:

A different federal judge, F. Dennis Saylor IV, also recently temporarily blocked it after concerns that it had been rolled out in an irresponsible manner and also infringes on students' privacy.

We have come such a long way when it comes to getting rid of the misinformed, ignorant caveman-like beliefs that look down on women's capabilities.

But unfortunately, misogyny is back, in the form of online content posted by chauvinistic influencers. The scary part is that these old-fashioned ways of thinking are starting to influence the younger generations!

CNN actually did an expose a few months ago regarding a website that was teaching men how to drug and r**e women!

What does this have to do with employment?

Well, the same men consuming this misogynistic content are the same ones who come to work. If this is left unchecked, it could spiral out of control and threaten gender equality and the safety of women in workplaces.

The government is stepping in to ensure employers protect female workers from sexual harassment.

It recently made several changes to the Employment Rights Act, and one of them relates to sexual harassment.

Starting October 2026, it will be mandatory for employers to establish measures to prevent this form of violation. In addition, they will also need to protect whistleblowers from victimisation.
