Job Description – Production Manager / Lead Operator (EPS Production Line & CNC Operations)

Position Summary
The Production Manager / Lead Operator is responsible for the daily operation, supervision, and optimization of the EPS production line and CNC cutting systems. Unlike a traditional office-based production manager, this role requires active participation in machine operation, production setup, troubleshooting, and operator training.
The position combines the responsibilities of a production manager and a senior production operator, ensuring production targets, product quality, machine efficiency, and workforce performance are achieved.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Production Management
Plan and organize daily production schedules.
Monitor production output and ensure customer orders are completed on time.
Coordinate production activities with warehouse, maintenance, sales, and logistics departments.
Control raw material consumption and production costs.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
Monitor production KPIs and implement improvement actions.
EPS Line Operation
Personally operate and supervise:
Pre-expander equipment
Aging silos
EPS block molding machines
Shape molding machines
Block cutting systems
Set and adjust machine parameters including:
Density
Steam pressure
Temperature
Cycle times
Perform production changeovers and product setup.
Troubleshoot operational issues and minimize downtime.
CNC Operation
Operate CNC EPS cutting equipment when required.
Create, modify, and optimize CNC cutting programs.
Verify dimensions and product conformity.
Optimize cutting layouts to reduce material waste.
Train operators on CNC operation procedures.
Team Supervision
Lead and supervise production operators.
Assign daily tasks and monitor workforce performance.
Train new employees in machine operation and safety procedures.
Ensure compliance with company production standards.
Promote discipline, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform first-level machine maintenance.
Identify mechanical and process-related problems.
Coordinate with maintenance technicians for major repairs.
Ensure machines are properly cleaned and maintained.
Maintain spare parts and consumables inventory records.
Quality Control
Monitor product density, dimensions, and appearance.
Ensure products comply with customer specifications.
Reduce scrap and production defects.
Investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Health & Safety
Ensure safe operation of all production equipment.
Enforce safety procedures and use of PPE.
Conduct regular safety checks.
Report hazards and unsafe conditions immediately.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in:
Mechanical Engineering
Industrial Engineering
Mechatronics Engineering
Manufacturing Engineering
Or equivalent technical experience
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of experience operating industrial production equipment.
Experience with EPS manufacturing lines is strongly preferred.
Experience operating CNC machinery.
Experience supervising production personnel.
