A lovely family based in Stockwell, SW8, is looking for an experienced, warm and educationally focused Nanny to care for their six-month-old baby.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a professional Nanny who genuinely enjoys the early years and takes pride in supporting a child’s development through engaging, age-appropriate experiences, play and exploration.
The role will initially be two days per week from mid-September, allowing the Nanny and family to establish a strong, trusting relationship before Mum returns to work. From January 2027, the position will increase to five days per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am–5:30pm.
The Role
The family is looking for a Nanny who is passionate about child development and enjoys creating a stimulating and nurturing environment for a young baby.
You will be responsible for providing a balance of loving care, developmental play, outings and age-appropriate activities, following the baby’s individual interests and developmental stage.
The ideal Nanny will enjoy planning activities at home as well as making the most of the fantastic local opportunities in Stockwell and the surrounding areas, including baby groups, classes, parks, libraries and other child-friendly activities.
A good understanding of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) would be highly desirable. The family would love someone who naturally incorporates EYFS principles into their day-to-day care and enjoys thinking about activities that support the baby’s emerging skills and milestones without making the day feel overly structured.
Weaning & Nutrition
As the baby will have started their weaning journey when the Nanny joins, experience with introducing solids and managing the weaning process is important.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* At least 5 years’ professional nanny experience and a childcare qualification to Level 3.
* Previous experience caring for babies from around six months old
* A genuine passion for babies and early childhood development
* A good understanding of developmental milestones
* Experience planning and providing age-appropriate activities
* An understanding of, or experience working with, the EYFS
* Previous experience with weaning and introducing solids and allergens
* A good knowledge of children’s nutrition and healthy eating
* A warm, nurturing and engaging personality
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with parents
* A proactive approach to organising activities and outings
* A calm, reliable and professional manner
* A genuine interest in supporting a child’s development through play and everyday experiences
* An enhanced DBS and First Aid essential.
The family is looking for someone who will become a trusted and valued part of their family life. Building a strong relationship with Mum initially is particularly important, with the hope that this develops into a very positive and collaborative partnership once Mum returns to work.
As part of the recruitment process, the family would like the successful candidate to complete a paid 2–3 day trial before a permanent offer is made.
This will give both the family and Nanny the opportunity to spend some time together, get to know one another and ensure the role is the right fit for everyone. The family is keen to build a genuine, trusting relationship with their Nanny and sees this as an important part of the process.
