About the Family:
A warm, professional family based in Wimbledon Park (SW19) is seeking a loving and experienced nanny to join them from September 2026. You will be the primary carer for their daughter, who will be 10 months old at the start date, working in close partnership with two working parents. This is a long-term sole charge role for someone who genuinely loves infant and early toddler development, and who wants to grow with a family over time.
The family has a Jamaican-Caribbean heritage on one side and warmly welcomes candidates who share or feel a meaningful connection to Caribbean culture. This is a positive preference, not a requirement, and will not take precedence over experience and suitability.
Duties:
• Provide nurturing, age-appropriate sole charge care for a 10-month-old infant, supporting all aspects of daily routine: feeding, naps, play, and development
• Plan and lead stimulating, developmentally appropriate activities — sensory play, outdoor time, visits to local parks and baby groups in Wimbledon and SW19
• Research, book, and accompany the child to age-appropriate classes and activities, such as sensory classes, music groups, and soft play
• Support the child's physical, cognitive, and emotional development through attentive, responsive caregiving
• Prepare and cook healthy, age-appropriate meals and snacks, including batch cooking and weaning support as the child progresses
• Manage the child's laundry and keep nursery and play areas tidy throughout the day
• Communicate openly and proactively with parents — daily handovers, development updates, and flagging concerns promptly
• Flexibility for occasional early starts, evening cover, or other schedule adjustments with reasonable advance notice (all overtime paid at agreed rate)
Ideal candidate
• Proven experience with babies and young infants — confident, calm, and warm from day one
• Strong understanding of infant development, sleep, feeding, and weaning
• Norland-trained or similarly qualified candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
• Reliable, punctual, and genuinely proactive — someone who takes initiative rather than waiting to be asked
• Excellent communicator who is comfortable building a close working partnership with parents
• A team player with a positive, sunny disposition who brings calm and joy to the home
Requirements
• Enhanced DBS prior to start
• Paediatric First Aid certificate required (or willing to obtain prior to start)
• Excellent, verifiable references from at least two previous families
• Right to work in the UK
