The Role

A lovely family in West Putney are looking for an experienced and highly organised nanny to care for their three children, aged 6, 8 and 10.

This is a busy household with three school-age children attending different schools and a full schedule of after-school clubs, sports and activities. The family are therefore looking for someone who is genuinely confident managing multiple children and who has the organisation, planning and initiative needed to keep everything running smoothly.

Mum usually works from home until around 2pm, after which she and the nanny will tag-team and work closely together. Being comfortable working alongside a parent is particularly important to the family, as they want someone who sees this as a genuine partnership rather than a role where the nanny works completely independently.

The nanny will manage school pick-ups, activities, homework, reading and the children's afternoon and evening routines. The children are at an age where encouraging independence, good habits and responsibility is important, so the family would like someone who takes an active interest in their development and education.

There is a housekeeper who prepares the majority of the family's meals and takes care of washing and folding the laundry. The nanny will be responsible for organising the children's snacks and simple food when needed, as well as sorting and putting away the children's clothes and keeping their belongings organised.

For someone interested in combining nannying with PA work, the family can offer a 12pm start. The additional time before school pick-up would involve PA duties primarily connected to the children and family, such as school administration, errands, buying birthday presents, dry cleaning, organising sports equipment, researching activities and holidays, and helping with the children's wardrobes.

During school holidays, the hours will generally move to approximately 8am–5pm, with some flexibility. There is no requirement to travel with the family, although the nanny would be welcome to accompany them on some holidays if they wished to.

Want to be part of something new for nannies?

Earlier this year, we launched the NNA Nanny Research Programme because we believe professional nannies have something incredibly valuable to contribute: the knowledge we gain from spending our days alongside children in their homes.

We've decided to make our first project really simple.
Our first NNA Research Project
Creativity, Expression & Belonging in Home-Based Childcare
Over the next few weeks, we're asking nannies to explore one simple question with the children they care for:
How do young children use creativity to express themselves and explore the world around them?

You might explore this through:
Art and drawing
Music and singing
Dance and movement
Books and storytelling
Exploring different cultures and communities
Role play and imaginative play

You don't need to do anything elaborate. In fact, we'd love you to use the everyday
experiences you already have with the children.

We'll provide you with a simple digital template. We'll ask you to record what you tried, what the children did or said, and anything that surprised you.
That's it.

We'll then bring everyone's experiences together to look for common themes and learning.
Why are we doing this?
There is lots of research about children in nurseries and schools, but far less about children's experiences in home-based childcare.
We want to start changing that.
This is about nannies learning more deeply about the children they care for - and nannies helping the NNA build a growing evidence base for home-based childcare.
And we'd love you to be part of our very first project.
