LSESU United Nations Society

LSESU United Nations Society UNSOC is the LSE's one-stop society for students to engage with the UN through Model United Nations, networking events, and volunteering opportunities.

The LSESU UN Society is one of the largest and most diverse societies on campus. Operating through 3 Divisions (Careers, Outreach and Model United Nations), the UN Society hosts numerous speaker events, campaigns, as well as attending over 15 MUN Conferences a year across the globe. In addition, the UN Society hosts its own conferences, LSEMUN, an exciting and unique crisis conference focusing on

a contemporary world conflict zone, and YouthMUN, a fantastic opportunity for high school students to learn MUN and participate in an international level conference. Additionally, we run excellent networking sessions with various experts from the field to allow our members to understand more about working for the UN. We also regularly hold socials for our members to get to know each other better, and this year we are looking to collaborate with other UN Societies to conduct more joint events. There are various opportunities for you to get involved with the society throughout the year, and we look forward to welcoming you to the society. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to drop us a message.

Hi everyone!

We are so excited to announce that we are going to be holding our first Careers event of the year, the BAFUNCS panel, next week!

The British Association of Civil Servants of Former United Nations Civil Servants (BAFUNCS) was established in 1977 with the purpose of building a network of former UN workers who live in the UK, or wish to maintain links with the UK. As such, the BAFUNCS panel is a great way to learn more about working at the UN!

This year the panel will contain 3 guest speakers, all of whom have had long and distinguished careers at the UN. Their profiles can be found in the post above.

Join us next Monday, the 3rd October, in the Alumni Theatre, NAB at 6pm to learn more about working in the UN!

Lunch will be provided (pizza!) and there will be a social afterwards, so this is the perfect opportunity to mingle and make new friends!
