Today is a proud day for the Lombe family! Why? I hear you ask..🤔

👉🏾My sister, the one only Benedict Lombe’s play ‘Shifters’ has sold out in London’s West End this summer!

And…

She featured in the Guardian Newspaper yesterday!! 🥳

🏆Benedict is the THIRD woman of colour to have their play feature in London’s West End – this is major!

🥇 in 2022, Benedict MADE HISTORY as the FIRST EVER woman of colour to have won the Susan Smith Blackburn award!

🥳I’m so proud of her and how she’s using Theatre as a platform to make room for racial equality.

📖This is what I have learned from her trailblazing success…if you’re unhappy about something, rather than be frustrated about it, get to work and do something about it 🤷‍♀️

Real talk:
I have previously had a fear of what people thought of me and often found myself trying to please other people and have their vote of approval and validation.

🧠After working on this challenge everyday for the past 2.5 years, I feel free.

I am now at a point in my life where someone's opinion of me means as much as Borris Johnson's promises mean...zilch
..and I am no longer a slave to peoplepleasingism (just made that word up) 🤓

📖The dictionary's definition of fulfilment is "the achievement of something desired, promised or predicted"

Sounds like a lot of blah blah blah to me 🗣️

👉🏽Goodyear Lombe's definition of fulfilment is; doing something that is much greater than yourself whilst contributing to the greater good and making a positive impact on the lives others.

⭐Have you ever stopped and asked yourself..why is it that people who have 'seemingly everything' are so unhappy? (don't get me wrong I'm sure that being broke doesn't make people happy either🙅🏽‍♀️).

👉🏽Could it be that; maybe, just maybe..those 'seemingly happy' people are not fulfilled? 🤔🤷🏽‍♂️

👂🏽If you're in a career/relationship/marriage/friendship that doesn't inspire you to look beyond yourself and contribute to making a positive impact in other people's lives, then change it.

✅You are not sentenced to misery, you are not sentenced to constant disappointments, you are not sentenced to anything that is less than your full potential in this life.
