Occupational Health Physician (Derby / Birmingham)

Our client is one of the UK's leading Occupational Health providers and they work with public and private sector businesses to reduce workplace absence by helping their staff to be healthier, fitter and more productive.

Based across offices close to Derby Train Station and Birmingham New Street Station we require an Occupational Health Physician to assist in delivering a comprehensive occupational health advisory service to railway staff including train drivers, rail maintenance workers and platform/ticketing staff. Duties will include but not be limited to:

Effective provision of medical services to client companies by the Clinical Team.
Acting as CMO for clients advising them on policy, general health advice and HR/absence management strategies.
Conduct appropriate clinical assessments, e.g. absence and rehabilitation medical assessments, health surveillance and pre-employment medicals
Strategic support for health promotion and wellness to client employees when required
Commitment to and participation in OHP appraisals and CPD processes
Ensuring compliance with procedures and supporting / developing doctors where needed to ensure that standards are met or exceeded.
Prepare/review occupational health policies and procedures and any other policies in line with HR's requirements


Candidates must be GMC registered and qualified and experienced in occupational health.

The salary for the role is from £75,000 - £115,000 depending on experience. Hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Benefits include:

You should be RNLD or RMN qualified and have completed nurse training, minimum of 3 years post registration. We are seeking candidates who have transferable skills and are motivated and passionate.

As a Charge Nurse you will lead the nursing team in the visible manner and will ensure that the quality of nursing care is maintained to the highest level at all times. You will take responsibility for ensuring that the assessment of care needs of patients and the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of individual care plans, is undertaken appropriately.

Duties will include

Providing senior support on site, in delivering 24 hour care and management of ward based in-patient services.
Attending and taking part in ward rounds and other multi-disciplinary meetings.
Providing support and information to nursing staff and Support Workers on patient care matters relating to patient needs and evidence based care and treatment.
Providing strong support networks with access to specialist support and encourage continued professional development by managing and supporting the attendance of training and development for yourselves and nursing staff.
Participating and supporting nurses in patient referral meetings, pre-admission assessments and related report writing.
Looking for ways to develop and expand our services to improve the care pathway for patients and career pathway for staff.
Managing nursing team attendance absence.


Salary

You will work alongside a full Multidisciplinary Team including nursing staff, psychiatrists, speech and language therapists and psychologists. Taking a "hands on" approach it is essential that you will be a strong team player, with excellent communication skills.

The emphasis of treatment is developing ADL skills, social inclusion and vocational rehabilitation. There is also a focus on assessing and developing proactive sensory strategies to reduce and prevent challenging behaviour.

Preceptorship (if not previously completed)

Clinical Supervision from Senior OT

Support from a multidisciplinary team

Duties:

You will be in place to conduct bio-psychosocial assessments for clients, while providing face to face and telephone based interventions/appointments.

" You will work with other Health Advisors and Senior Health Advisors to build relationships with external organisations such as the NHS and other specialist providers of health &/or wellbeing related services. They will also generate health and wellbeing referrals and ensure work to ensure continued engagement with employment advisors.

Necessary Skills/Qualifications:

" Qualified Physiotherapist (HCPC registered).

" Experience in a MSK setting, pain management, mental health, occupational health, vocational rehabilitation or condition management - Experience of delivering health or wellbeing related group interventions, facilitating workshops or training sessions.

" Experience of working with those who are unemployed and/or may have health or wellbeing related issues, disability with an understanding of vulnerable groups.

" Experience in the use or good level of understanding of CBT in the context of behaviour change.

Hours are Monday to Friday 9am - 5.30pm

The salary is between £24,895 and £29,895 depending on experience and benefits include:
