Buddy Buddy Liverpool

Buddy Buddy Liverpool Joining forces locally Our Aim

Buddy Buddy has been created by ex-servicemen and women for ex-servicemen and women. The concept is simple.

We as a community believe that we dont always need help and support from society, but instead we support each other through networking and social activities. By harnessing an online community and by organising events for ourselves we aim to dispel social isolation. Social isolation is the biggest contributor to that slippery slope of alcohol and drug misuse, lack of employment and training opportu

nities, criminal activity and prison, and homelessness. All these issues have been identified as problems facing our servicemen and women as they leave forces life and transfer over to the civilian world. (1 in 4 homeless people are ex-services, 1 in 8 prisoners are former service personnel)

The root cause is social isolation, losing that buddybuddy friendships that have been built up within the forces is not the same when people return to civi life. People dont share the same interests, values, sense of humour and experiences.
