Congratulations to Liam Loftus for reaching 5 years working for CRG | TEC Recruitment and his 13th in recruitment!
Liam is a valuable member of the team here at TEC and we thank him for all his work over the last few years. We asked him a few questions about the past 5 years, how the industry has evolved and what inspires him.
How does CRG TEC differ from other companies you have worked for previously?
TEC was the first start up I went to, which to a lot of people probably looked a risk but for me it was a no brainer. I had worked with Neil Crudden, Stephen Morris & Alexandra Hewitt in a previous company so knew the talent that was there and knew I could contribute. The first 2 years of a start-up are notoriously hard work, but 5 years on it is easily the best professional decision I have ever made.
What’s the best thing about working at CRG TEC?
That’s easy – the people. Everyone gets on, trusts each other and helps each other so whilst there is always that competitiveness you get (and want!) in recruitment, we’re always trying to improve and get better. The standards & expectations here are higher than anywhere else I have worked, but it gets the best out of everyone
What contribution have you made to the company that is most meaningful to you?
Seeing the engineering desk grow year on year. We’ve worked with some amazing clients and some really interesting projects to support them, but seeing the desk grow in terms of is billed as well as the office filling up with new faces shows we’re doing something right.
What is your greatest career accomplishment to date?
I don’t really have 1 per se as daft as that sounds. My 12 years in recruitment has gone pretty well (apart from the odd bump along the road) that’s seen me work with some amazing people and companies, so as long as that continues then I’m happy.
What industry changes have you seen during the last 5 years?
Engineering is always changing, but in my sector there is a real focus on renewable now (more so that it was in 2017), with especially the electric vehicle market really booming.
Who or what inspires you and why?
Pretty cliché but has to be my family. Having 3 children at a range of different ages (16, 10, 2) means there is always something new that they want and seeing them 3 happy makes it all worthwhile (even if the 2 year old still has a habit of waking us up at 5.30am!)
Thanks for all the continued hard work Liam! Here's to the next 5 years!
