Role: Assistant Chef.
Location: The Valleys Care Home Scunthorpe.
Salary: Competitive- to be discussed at interview.

Brief overview of role:

• Ensure a balanced and nutritious home cooked diet is prepared and cooked in a controlled hygienic environment whilst ensuring quality is maintained.

• Ensure systems are in place to avoid food wastage

•Ensure staff within the kitchen adhere to current relevant food hygiene regulations and policies of the home.

•Maintain regular contact with the chef in respect of service user requirements, budgets and any other relevant issues.

This will be a full time role.

Key responsibilities are:

• To assist residents who need help with dressing, un******ng, bathing and toilet.

• To help residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities such as incontinence; help in the care and use of aids and personal equipment.

• To help in the promotion of physical and mental activities of residents through talking to them, taking them out and sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreations.

• To make and change beds, tidy rooms.

• To serve meals, assist residents at meal times if required; assist in the clearing and cleaning of the dining area.

• To answer emergency call bells, the door and telephone, being aware of the required response to calls and the procedure in dealing with an enquiry. Greeting visitors.
