Apologies for lack of content. Covid got us.
👊 Respect (respetika - as aka Ali G would say)… what does it mean, really? Is the dictionary definition correct/accurate?
💥 Do we really garner respect for someone for things they’ve done? Is it not admiration as opposed to respect? Can you respect someone you haven’t met? The definition mentions ‘abilities’ ‘qualities’ and ‘achievements’… we like qualities. Should you not respect someone for who they are, as a person, not what they’ve done. I admire Harry Kane for being a good footballer, so do I respect him for being a good footballer? I’m not sure.
We don’t know the answer, but would suggest that you respect more people that you actually know, than people you don’t. You admire people you don’t know.
Ali G had it right. Respetika is key in life. 👊
