Here we are. ♥️

At the hospital, ready for my liver surgery.

A little nervous now, but trusting God and leaving it in his hands. 🙏🏽

Here we go… ♥️

Tomorrow is the day. ❤️

It’s strange knowing that I still have a whole day ahead of me, but tomorrow everything changes for a while.

I’m spending today getting the last few things sorted and making sure everything is in place for my absence and the recovery that follows. There’s still plenty to do, so I’m trying to keep busy rather than spend too much time thinking about what tomorrow actually means!

I know the recovery ahead is going to be a big one. For a while, I’m going to have to accept that I won’t be able to do the things I normally do, that even everyday tasks may take more effort, and that I’m going to need more help and support from the people around me than I’m used to. That’s probably going to be one of the hardest parts for me — learning to slow down, accept help and understand that recovery can’t be rushed. I know there will be good days and difficult days, but I’m determined to take it one step at a time and give myself the time I need to heal properly.

For now though, I’m focusing on today. Getting things done, spending time with the people I love, and trying not to let tomorrow take away from today.

Nervous — not at the moment, tomorrow of course I will be. But I’m also incredibly grateful for the love, prayers and support that have surrounded me throughout all of this.

One day at a time. One step at a time. And leaving tomorrow firmly in God’s hands. 🙏❤️

Back to reality after a lovely birthday weekend! 🎂♥️

Pre-op assessment this morning at the General. I managed to park in completely the wrong car park, meaning I had to walk the entire length of the hospital — right through the surgery department. 😬

It definitely made everything feel very real. I know I won’t actually be having my surgery at the General, but it was certainly a bit of a wake-up call!

Just 3 days left at work, so I’m putting everything into place for my absence, however long it may be.

Staying focused. Staying positive. And ultimately, leaving it in the hands of God. 🙏

If you can’t control it, don’t let it control you. ♥️

A very successful tea, coffee and cake open house! ☕️🍰♥️

So many visitors, so many cards, and more bunches of flowers than I know what to do with! I honestly feel so loved right now. ♥️

BUT!!! 😂

The biggest problem has definitely been the amount of cake that was brought, eaten and left behind! I honestly think I’ll still be eating it for the next few months whilst I’m recovering! 😂🍰 (Which, actually, isn’t that bad a problem to have!)

I can honestly say this has probably been one of my favourite birthdays in many years. ♥️

Thank you to everyone who came, to all those who wanted to but couldn’t make it, and finally to everyone who couldn’t be here but has taken the time to wish me a happy birthday.

I really do appreciate every single message, card, flower, visit and kind thought. You’ve all made me feel incredibly loved. ♥️

I will take today into Friday with a heart full of love. ♥️

Humbled! Blessed! Lifted! Grateful! ♥️

What a morning. I honestly think that was my favourite service since I started preaching. The music, the prayers, the words, the love and the gratitude… I’m totally overwhelmed!

Songs aren’t just to be sung — they bring so much more too. They connect us, move us, remind us, comfort us and bring us closer to God and to one another. 🎶🙏🏽

Thank you to everyone who came along and shared my last service before my operation. It meant more to me than I can possibly put into words.

And can I just say… “I’ll be back!” ♥️

I’m determined to come back and continue making a difference in life, doing whatever I can to make a difference in the lives of others.

For now though, 4 full days before my operation.

Tomorrow is a day of catching up with family and friends, then it’s 3 full days of work so I know everything is sorted before I say goodbye for a few weeks.

Before I know it, Friday will be here and the day will have arrived.

I know I’ll be posting before then, but whatever happens, remember when we met, why we met and what we have brought to each other’s lives.

It’s time to celebrate the past, be grateful for the present and look forward to the future.

🙏🏽♥️

An amazing evening in Sunny Hunny at Princess Theatre watching the Jersey Beats and Leye D Johns, I even got a special mention lol (even though he did call me his stalker 🤣🤣🤣) it was a fabulous show even though the change in the boys confused us at first, but they were still on point! We did miss Matt, but Michael’s voice was absolutely amazing!!!! It was definitely worth our mini break to Hunstanton!

Fingers crossed I’m fully recovered by November as we WILL be in Scarborough to watch to at The Spa, Scarborough! ♥️🙏🏽😁

♥️ This Sunday will be my last service before my operation! ♥️

I’ll be back at my home church, Epworth Methodist Church, for a Songs of Praise themed service — and EVERYONE is welcome! 🎶

It feels quite strange knowing that this will be my last service before I go into hospital, but I’m really looking forward to being there on Sunday and sharing the service together, through song another thing close to my heart ♥️

I was also supposed to be leading our Sunday evening service on the 6th September, but unfortunately this has now been cancelled.

I had already written the service and decided on the theme, which is something very close to my heart. With everything happening so quickly, I didn’t feel it was fair to ask someone else to jump in at short notice and deliver something they haven’t had the chance to prepare.

And, if I’m honest, I’d also really love to be the one to deliver the service I’ve written! 😊 So rather than rush it or hand it over, I’m hoping that once I’m fully recovered, I’ll be able to come back and share it myself.

But for now, Sunday at 10.30am at Epworth Methodist Church will be my last service before my operation.

If you’re around, come and join us for Songs of Praise. It would be lovely to see you. ♥️🎶

Well… things have moved a little quicker than expected! ❤️

I’ve just found out that my liver surgery has been brought forward from Tuesday 8th September to Friday 4th September.

So, instead of having just under two weeks to prepare, I’ve now only got a little over a week to get my head around it all! 😳

It wasn’t something I was expecting, but at least I now know when it’s happening — and it’s happening sooner than I thought!

Friday 4th September — here we go! 🙏🏽

It also means that my last service before my operation will be this Sunday at Epworth, starting at 10.30am. It would be lovely to see you there! ❤️

Thank you for all the love, prayers, messages and support you’ve shown me since I shared my news. It really does mean more than you know. ❤️

One step at a time. 🙏🏽♥️

A couple of days away! ♥️

It may not be sunny, it may not be that warm, but it’s time away — and right now, that’s all that counts. 😊

Sometimes you don’t need perfect weather, you just need a change of scenery, some time together and the chance to switch off for a little while. 🥰

Making the most of every moment! ♥️
