❓ What motivates you in your work within residential childcare recruitment?

"I enjoy working in a sector where it feels like we are genuinely making a difference. I like speaking with providers and hearing how well young people have engaged with our staff."

💡 What do you think providers value most from an agency?

"Reliability, making sure shifts are actually covered. Quality, ensuring the staff we send are capable and make a positive impact. And compliance, making sure everything is in place and thorough."

🏠 What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

"I enjoy spending time with my girlfriend and our 5 year old daughter."

"A true crime documentary on the sofa under a blanket."

❓ How does your role support children and young people?

"My role supports children and young people by raising and maintaining high standards across the service. I make sure everything is compliant, everyone is accountable, and the quality of care always focuses on the wellbeing of the young people being supported."

💡 What part of your job has the biggest impact?

"My biggest impact is setting and enforcing the standards we work to at JM Workforce Services. I also support managers when they need it most, helping reduce disruption and ensuring young people continue to receive stable and consistent care."

🐕 What’s your favourite way to unwind after a long day?

"Nothing helps me unwind more than taking the dog for a walk, followed by a cup of tea and some biscuits while watching the latest trending TV series."

🎣 What’s a hobby or interest you’re passionate about?

"I enjoy learning, reflecting and finding better ways to do things, both in work and in life. I also enjoy a spot of fishing when the weather allows it."

❓ How does your role support children and young people?

"By ensuring shifts are covered, I make sure no young person is left without adequate support. It is not just about filling a shift, providing consistent faces helps young people build trust with the staff supporting them.”

💡 What part of your job has the biggest impact?

"The relationships I build with our Support Workers. Having open and positive communication helps me understand their strengths and match them to the right homes.”

🏋️ What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

"I am in the gym most days pushing myself, and if I am not there, you will find me at Anfield supporting Liverpool FC.”

🏁 One thing people might not know about you?

"Before injuring my knee at 12, I raced in junior go karting and travelled the country winning trophies.”

❓ How does your role support children and young people?

"I support children and young people by ensuring the staff I recruit are the right fit for the role and have a genuine understanding of their needs. I also make sure all candidates are fully compliant and recruited in line with Ofsted regulations."

💡 What part of your job has the biggest impact?

"Vetting the right candidates has the biggest impact. That first initial call can really determine whether someone is the right fit to work in residential care."

🏃‍♀️ What’s your favourite way to unwind after a long day?

"Either going to the gym, going for a walk, or settling down to watch a good series."

👀 One thing people might not know about you?

"I’ve moved house 20 times."

⭐ Who better to start with than the ‘JM’ behind JM Workforce Services, James McCabe.

❓ Why did you start JM Workforce Services?

"JM Workforce Services was born from my own professional experiences understanding the need in the sector and the lack of quality and compliance other services had to offer and the impact this has on children. I had a vision to create stable workforce resources that helped children receive continuity of care and ensure children are looked after by safe adults."

💡 What motivates you in your work within residential childcare recruitment?

"I am motivated by the care our organisation can provide to children, knowing we are not just a “typical” recruitment agency in the sector and we actually pride ourselves on going above and beyond to make a difference."

🏖️ What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

"I enjoy family time and holidays with my children and I have a love for playing snooker in my down time."

👀 One thing people might not know about you?

"I took my first registered managers position at the age of 24 years old for a 24 bed childrens home for children with Autism and moderate learning difficulties."
