Author, artist and psychotherapist Catherine will be sharing her book 'Still Living'.

"Still Living is a luminous and radically honest memoir about the part we don’t talk about enough: what happens after a life-altering experience, when the immediate crisis may be over but you - and the landscape of your life - have been irrevocably changed and rearranged.

Through the guiding metaphor of a mountain, Catherine traces her intimate journey through breast cancer, chronic illness, ME and identity rupture from a trauma-aware and neurodivergent perspective."

Gaming Hangout – Thinking of Joining Us?

You don't have to commit to two hours of gaming straight away! 😊

We know that turning up somewhere new can feel a bit daunting, especially when you don't know who's going to be there or what to expect.

So here's the thing…

👋 You can pop in and say hello!

Come and meet Mel and Ariana, have a look around, see what games we're playing and get a feel for what Gaming Hangout is all about.

You don't have to stay for the whole session, either. Stay for as long as you're comfortable with. There's no pressure to jump straight in or join every activity.

What about registration?

We do ask everyone to register because it helps us put the right safeguarding arrangements in place for who's attending.

But if you're thinking about joining and haven't registered yet, please don't let that stop you from coming to meet us! You can pop in, have a chat with us and we'll explain how it all works.

We want Gaming Hangout to be somewhere young people can feel comfortable, be themselves and find their own way into the group.

Some people will be ready to get gaming straight away. Others might need a little time to settle in. Both are absolutely fine.

Counselling remote or in person for 18-21 year olds is £10 per session with Phoenix Health and Wellbeing. Early intervention counselling is getting help before small problems turn into big ones. Think of it like catching a cold early—if you rest and take care of yourself right away, you can stop it from becoming something worse, like the flu.
Life can be overwhelming sometimes, whether it's stress from college, work, relationships, family, or just figuring out who you are and what you want to be. Talking to a counsellor early on can help you understand your emotions, develop healthy coping skills, and prevent issues like anxiety or depression from getting worse.
It's not about being "weak" or "having something wrong with you". The earlier you address challenges, the easier they are to manage, and the stronger you’ll become in handling future situations.

Over the past few weeks, through conversations with MPs and organisations working across different sectors, there has been a clear consensus:

VAWG & Domestic abuse prevention and healthy relationships education cannot sit within one service, one age group or one point in someone’s life.

It needs to be embedded across the whole life course from maternity services and early years, through schools and colleges, into workplaces, communities and later-life services, including elderly care.

Domestic abuse does not discriminate. Prevention therefore requires a multi-agency, whole-system approach, with organisations recognising the touchpoints where education, awareness and early intervention can make a difference.

Soundproofbox doesn’t set policy. But we can contribute to the conversation about what an integrated approach to healthy relationships education could look like.

So, we’ve started mapping the continuum of healthy relationships education across the life course — identifying the key touchpoints where conversations about healthy relationships, boundaries, consent, respect, coercion and abuse can be introduced and reinforced.

Because prevention shouldn’t start when someone is already experiencing abuse.

It should start much earlier and continue throughout life.

We’re keen to hear from people working across health, education, social care, safeguarding, HR, policing, government and the voluntary sector.
